Default Can You Answer My n00b Questions About Selling on Flippa?

I've never sold a site before on Flippa, but I got lucky on one of my niche sites and would rather take the cash than spend time to develop it. It's a three month old site that I just started monetizing this month and it's made over $650 so far. I will not be sharing the url so don't PM me asking for it.

Here are a couple of questions:

    - It makes about 1/4 of it's revenue in Adsense and 3/4 from CPA networks and sharecash. Is the only way to "prove" my earnings a screenshot or is video an option? Is it going to sell for a lot less since a majority of the earnings in through CPA/sharecash?

    - Can you put video or images in the actual description or just as attachments?

    - I see people blocking out Clicks, Page CTR, and CPC in the stats. Is it crucial to leave this out?

    - How do I transfer the whole wordpress site over to the buyer after he purchases the site?

    - Since my Flippa account is new, should I have someone sell it for me? How much does the age of the account affect the sale on Flippa?

I'll probably think of more soon. I can't remember the other ones. Any advice is welcomed! Merry Christmas!

    1) If you can show a video that shows you login to your adsense and CPA accounts and shows the last 3-6 months or revenue that would be better. That would show that you have ownership of the adsense and CPA accounts.

    2) Preferably as attachments since whenever I find a very long description with links, I may just skip over the links

    3) The reason for this is that according to the adsense TOS, you're not supposed to disclose that information.

    4) There are videos that show how to do that. In a nutshell, export the MYSQL database, save all the wordpress files using a FTP program. Then go to the new host, FTP those files back into into the new host, and create a new MYSQL DB. Import that old MYSQL DB into this new one and go into its settings using Phpadmin and change the db hostname.

It sounds more complicated than it really is. PM me if you need any help

    5) I've bought from new accounts before, so as along as you have all the information above and relevant analytics data for the past 3 months or more, then you should be fine.

    Merry Christmas.

PM me with the details. I'm in the market for a website as well!

Thanks for the response. I just thought of a couple other n00b questions:

    - can I add a BIN after the auction has started?

    - What is the best amount of time? Obviously 30 days is ideal for more exposure, but I've heard 10 days is enough to get exposure, but at the same time instill a sense of urgency with the buyer. Someone said 30 days is too long because buyers will lose interest after such a long time. Is this just a myth?

Also, I didn't quite get an answer for the fact that my site gets 3/4 CPA earnings. I guess the new owner could just use sharecash since it's all content locked, but a buyer experienced in CPA would really be able to benefit and possibly pull in more profits in the months to come. Will this bring down the value of my site since a more experienced buyer is necessary (should have a CPA account)?

Again, I appreciate any advice and all advice. Thanks in advance!

    1) I think you'd be able to add a BIN price however I'm not too sure about that.

    2) Well 7-10 days is fine. Buyers may be a bit skeptical of shorter auctions especially at this time of the year due to the Flippa personnel possibly being on vacation and what not. Most of the 30 day sales that I see are for very large websites/high end websites

    3) Write that in the description that since its CPA based, one who is vell versed would be able to take it to higher benefits. Also if the buyers are noobs, they most likley would want the easy way out. Let them know that they can always use sharecash but there would be lower revenue using that.

I don't think the site would sell for lower due to using CPA. However since most buyers want a hands-off revenue stream, only a fewer number of knowledgeable people may bid on it.

It may help if you let the buyers know that they would need to experiment with different CPA networks in order to get the best value out of it. An ideal solution would be to hnad-hold the buyer though the first 2 weeks after the sale but that's obviously up to you.

Thanks again for the response kshatriya. I'd like to talk with meathead for a half hour or so because I know he could put all my questions to rest, but I will take any suggestions at this point.

Since I have a FB page with about 1,000 likes for the website, as well as over 1,100 double opt-in subscribers from the website, should I add this as a BONUS "if the auctions gets above $x,xxx" or should I include these from the beginning?

My site finished off with over $780 in profit in December. Instead of selling it on Flippa I'm just going to keep it and build on it. See if I can push $1K or higher next month with a little work (since I really didn't do anything with it and still made about $800 in December). Thanks for all the advice!

If you have a site like that and you believe it makes "passive" income for months to come, dont sell it! because, it can grow and you make much more that way. Or sell it only if you really need that cash now.

Interested in what you mean when you say that you got lucky. I am wanting to get into micro niche sites myself and wondering how you got a site that makes that much?

Did you find a golden keyword? Or does your traffic just convert really well? Thanks for any questions you can answer

Definitely. I "got lucky" because I was searching for one of the video games I enjoy playing, and noticed there were no search results for what I was looking for. The EMD was available and there was no competition. It was easy to dominate from there.
