I listed my site for sale at Flippa , And its first time .

Price is 4500$ and last bid is 2800 $ .

Yesterday i received PM from someone saying he will buy it in 4500$ .

His profiles shows he is just 3 days old member , means newly regged . He is saying he will only pay through Escrow , so is this safe tod eal with him or not . Also i aggreed to deal him and i said him that i will use Escrow but he is not replying now

Escrow is probably the safer way to deal since the funds are held by a third party. If they wanted to pay with Paypal they could potentially try to reverse the transaction after they already have control of the site. Of course, if they're not replying now, you might have a flake on your hands. I would relist it and tell the potential buyer to just hit the buy-it-now button if they want it for your asking price.

Wait 3 days then relist. Dispute the sale on Flippa and they will relist the auction for free for you.

I would be very suspicious dealing with someone newly registered who is prepared to pay the full price and wants to use escrow. The fact that he hasn't got back to you by now also seems pretty stinky. If I was talking about putting a deal through for that kind of money I would be responding very quickly to any contact I was getting.

The fact that he only registered three days ago means that he's got no kind of reputation that you can check to see if he is a prompt payer, or if he even pays at all. I can understand wanting to use escrow for that kind of money, because it is a lot. If you have doubts about dealing with him yourself, it's probably best to steer clear – the last thing you want is to get burned and be thinking “I knew it was suspicious”.

Just because he's new and wants to pay by Escrow, that doesn't mean it's not legit. The fact he hasn't been in touch, though, is a bit of a red flag.

In the Flippa sales completion area it should have his phone number and personal email listed. Have you tried calling?

In future, if you're going to accept bids from new members on Flippa, then it's always best to speak to them live (phone/Skype) BEFORE accepting their bid.

    Good luck.

Just because he is new should not be a problem , try to speak to him more , get the feel of it .

Escrow should be more secure than paypal

Go to the sale completion area of the auction and his/her contact details will be on the right hand side. They have to have a phone verified profile so the number should be valid.

That literally makes no sense at all. What are you even talking about?

In fact, I have same question. I got one guy was interested in my flippa auction and asked to buy out privately via escrow, but he never gave a bid for one time. He seemed to be very interested in me to stop auction, and move transaction via escrow.

I went to check his profile, he listed in US, but verified and login from another country. I asked him, he said he traveled a lot. Even he is not brand new registration, but not too long. There is no history for any transaction he did.

He said he did lots of transaction using Flippa. But all went through private transactions.

    Here are questions:

    1. This guy is suspicious or not?
    2. If domain go to tranaction via escrow, after I transfer my domain, he can refuse to release fund with whatever reason?
    3. Can you sell domain outside of Flippa if auction didn't succeed?

    Please help.

He's not dumb. He's smart to use escrow knowing that 90% of listings have false screenshots on Flippa...

If I use escrow.com to do transaction, setup terms and rules for transaction in escrow, then we only follow the rules we setup in escrow.com?
