I know that some members here do this. They buy an inexpensive site from DP and then sell it's improved version on Flippa for big money. Now, I have been on DP marketplace and I'm kinda lost. Thousands of sites there.

I'd like to have some sort of guide on how to do this. I can understand that it's not an exact science, though. I'll ask some specific questions and hope someone would be kind enough to answer them.

Buying a site from DP:

1. What are the things you look for when you buy a site from DP? (Maybe you can give an example of a site you just bought?)

2. What's your budget for buying a site from DP?

Improving the newly bought site:

1. What kind of works do you do on the site? (content adding, SEO...?)

2. While doing SEO, what goals do you set for yourself? (Like, I'll take the site to at least #2 for this kw)

3. What's your budget for doing SEO on that site?

4. What SEO things you do on that site? If you outsource them, where do you buy the services from?

5. Do you only show revenue by adsense or some other way also?

6. How long do you wait before listing it for flipping?

You get no response because there is nothing special at buying from dp and selling on flippa, it's the same as buying from flippa and re-selling on flippa, or buying from flippa and selling somewhere else... You need to have the basic principles of improving websites mastered, then it does not matter where you buy and where you sell.

And there is no universal answer, some people do adsense and seo, some do cpa, some do affiliate, some improve traffic, some improve conversions, some improve just the sales page, etc.. if you do not know how to do any of them it's not gonna help you if i say i buy websites from dp, seo them and use adsense and selling them for profit. Or etc.

Thanks. I knew there was nothing special about it. That is exactly why I asked some pretty specific questions (or tried to, I might have failed). I know some members here do this on a regular basis and I was hoping they would share their experience and advice. The hardest part for me is to choose sites from DP.

most of the sites from DP are useless.
I've seen couple of good ones but their price was like 5000$.
But I'm not competent enough to tell you the truth, but the few ones I bought turned out to be not what they claimed to be.
If I buy again, I would buy more expensive sites older than 6 months

How old is the site?
Was it originally yours?
Did you buy this site?
Why are you selling it if so?
How much traffic do you get?
How much traffic do you get from the US?
What scripts is it running?
Do I need a license for these scripts?
Do I need to install GD Library, MySQL, Image Magick, etc?
Is it your script?
Will I have full copyright to the scripts and content if I buy it?
Is this content unique?
How much does your hosting cost?
How much resources does it use?
What's the income?
What's the income for the past 4 months?
What ad networks do you use?
Do you have a Google Adsene account? Where you banned?
Will you help me set it up?
etc, etc

First and foremost you have to see proof of monthly revenue of the website you want to buy and source of its income. Other factors are secondary.
