Default Are Bids On Flippa Generally Genuine?

I just noticed a site old on flippa for $200,000! (Search Flippa to see it). I don't know about you, but a site like that can be created in anyone's sleep if you have any development skills, that is. Now, it's possible that it has huge traffic, top ranking on Google, shows 29K on Alexa, thousands of solid back links, huge revenue, average 110 users online when I visited, etc. But $200K, really? Would you pay that much for a site like that?

I got suspicious that SOME bids on Flippa are bogus because of the money paid for SOME sites over there. Either people have "flipped" on Flippa or people have gone nuts and I missed the memo.

Now does Flippa work? Yes, it does. I've sold there in the past. But lately, I am questioning some of the bids and some of the values for sites. If those numbers are REAL and the bidders are REAL and to the tune of $200K for simple autoblog type sites, man, that's pretty incredible, don't you think?

Someone with $200K sitting in his bank account and ready to fork it out on an auto-blog or some not-so-famous site. I've seen several similar cases. What's going on?

    What do you think?

Bids aren't always genuine and often sites that look like they've sold never go through.

There are plenty of genuine buyers though. I've sold over $500k on Flippa this year and every single deal has gone through fine. Just takes a while to get the hang of filtering out good from bad bidders.

I can't comment for the $200k site personally but people buy sites for $XXX,XXX all the time if they have a history of traffic and revenue.

At the end of the day it all comes down to revenue.

If a site is making say 40k/mo, looks sustainable and I can pick it up for 200k then i'll buy it without thinking twice, and I couldn't care less whether it's an autoblog, a 1-page HTML site or anything else for that matter.

I've put bids on flippa before, they were legit but at the same time the seller had a reserve price. I agree 100% some sites are grossly inflated

I've sold several sites on Flippa many going for 4-5 figures and I've never had a problem. I never artifically inflated my price and I honestly don't think it occurs that much.
