The sad thing is for those of us in the know, this is hillarious, but even with all publicity 419 scams have received in the last few years, many people are still losings thousands to these lowlifes, and some have even comitted suicide after being scammed for all their savings.

PS. The princess of Lithumerica is in a tight squeeze. I would help her out, but I'm way to busy waxing my gooch today. If you want to give her a hand and make some serious cash like I did shoot me an email - 'legitnigerianIswear.tk.idk.wtf.us.rofl.balz.t8nt. omfg.ttyl.com'
Your amazing true story and seriously impressive email handle has convinced me I gotta get some of that Princess stuff - where do I send money?

Ha! What's really funny and ironic is that I get email phish/spams like this ALL the time. Except when I got a REAL government email, I responded back to it with "yeah okay, fuck off you spammer!" -- When they came over later that month, the lead AG (attorney general) investigator introduced himself as "hi there, my name is ==== ====, I had emailed you earlier this month and you told me to fuck off spammer, well, I'm here and I'm not a spammer." -- They nearly scared me half to death, but thankfully they weren't investigating me, they just wanted to get some clarification on the ringtone industry (which I knew nothing about in tech terms). So now when I do get messages that seem real, I shoot it off to friends at the feds and ask them if its legitimate or not. Don't feel like making that first mistake again anytime soon.

In general, the chances of anyone getting a REAL random email from the FBI or any other US Gov agency are slim to none. If they wanted to get into contact with you, they'll call you or show up to your pad. So honestly, there isn't much to be afraid or paranoid about from that area. What you also have to remember is that technology moves 1000000x faster than the gov does, so when they are investigating something NOW, theres a pretty good chance you're not going to be in any trouble because if you had done anything illegal, it was a long time ago. Don't be afraid, they are regular people just like you and me, except they do have the Patriot Act behind them and we just have our wits, ha!

Tell them you just changed bank accounts because your old bank wouldn't let you keep more than $100,000 in your account there, and that you can't withdraw any money for a month while the transfer is happening. Tell them if they wire you the $100 needed to speed up the transfer process (via Western Union) then you'll be able to give them the bank account number within 1 day of receiving the money. Beg for their help and act dumb and helpless. Pretend like you really believe in their offer lol. Setup a PO Box and maybe even a DBA license and get the money wired to that contact info.

Scam the scammers
A variation on this you might want to watch out for, a friend of mine recently encountered this (no, it really was a friend, not me ) but was smart enough to dodge a bullet.

What happens is that they advertise for a "secret shopper" type job on Craigslist (or similar) job boards, then they send you a check in the mail and tell you to go cash it and send the money to somewhere else via WU. Of course, the checks are forged checks printed with stolen bank account/routing numbers. Once you cash it and send it off to them not only do you end up with no money (they tell you to take the transfer fees out of the check..how generous) but now your name is on record as receiving stolen money from a forged check.

It sounds like a pretty straightforward scam when you think about it...but just goes to show you that it's crazy what some people won't think twice about doing if the right person tells them to.

Amen to that, sir!

It's really just such a shame, though.

Anyways, WHY would they ask for your details and everything if they were supposedly investigating already? You'd think they'd be a lot smarter than that, hey?

LMAO
