I've left messages on the thread and tried PM - nothing! He wasn't posting here either, so if he's dead - well, nothing he could do, otherwise - I'm sorry to say - it's another scam - grab the money and run. If so - he must have been really desperate as it was only $200

I've contacted people responding in the thread and it looks like I was the only one that got sucked

So I started PayPal dispute, but regardless - I think it would be a good idea to somehow restrict the jv area. Sorry, I have no idea how to do it, we've seen users with excellent reputation gone bad...

It's probably a good idea to review and discuss it.

I'm not crying because I possibly lost money - that was the choice I've made, but for me it's the second jv that went bad and one I almost got burnt (Eric).

What do you guys think - restrict access for jr.vip and up only? Do away with it altogether?

Ar1Gold got $2k in 2 months if he got all the investors he was looking for. I imagine he was a veteran... maybe someone we've seen around before.

That's good money for the amount of time invested. My apologies to those affected though: this sucks.

And sometimes people wonder how they loose money.

I'm sorry for your loss dowser ( for me 200$ is a nice sum as I'm kinda poor ) and If I were in your place I wouldn't know what to do.

My advice is to run from JV's because lately I wanted to invest in something so I could get a nice return ( currently have 1.3k for investing but I won't do any JV just because of the late scams -.-" ) but as you can feel and see, Joint Venture is too risky for your pocket.

I would play safe from here on

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Almost every time I've bought/sold/JV with someone, there was no public posting of information at all.

Some people don't want that information shown to the world. I'm sure people will come out of the woodwork eventually saying they were scammed too.

Yes, it's possible, it just leaves bad taste in my mouth.

To zerocoolflo - I've done many jv's in my IM life, some in $xx,xxx range and never got scammed. I'm a big boy, I can take a risk, but this loss wasn't a result of bad investment, it was investing with a bad person.

OK, just got a note from PayPal that they will refund the money to my account, but I'm a bit disappointed that he is still a member here with good standing.

He was just a kid.I knew him since he was playing with sharcash...you should do some background checking before jumping with money.

How do you do that if you only have his username here and possibly one of his e-mails? I realize that the handshake deals are long gone, but I still hope for some honesty in business dealings. Maybe I'm just from a different era...

I think BHW should stop with the JV section. It's a shame but there's just too much going wrong there.
