Fiverr.com - My FU Thread!
I have a couple of gigs on fiverr that makes enough for dinner for 2 every week... Anyways, I created a new gig and thought it would be a good idea to put the download link in the "instructions to buyer" area. This way, the buyer would get instant gratification from their purchase. Well, little did I know and something fiverr forgot to mention is, if the buyer doesn't respond to your instructions, the seller CAN'T complete the order. After I got my first order for that gig, I noticed I couldn't complete the order so I messaged the buyer and they never responded. This order is just sitting there with an "incomplete" status, even though the buyer got what he paid for. I contact fiverr and they were about as helpful as a nail gun at a balloon animal contest. They said, and I quote, "It's simply not possible for us to push the order along from its current state."
They told me to contact the buyer so the buyer would know to reply, but guess what? You can only send a message to them ONE time through the order page. There is no other way to contact a buyer, unless they happen to be a seller too and has a gig for sale.
The Fiverr guys also had the nerve to say, "Please note that if this order does go active via the buyer responding to your instructions it will likely cause negative repercussions on your gig. You may want to simply have us cancel at this time. Please advise." Ohh, so these fucks can cancel an order with ease but in a dispute against buyer and seller, they can't do shit? I pay these people 20% broker/mediator/middleman fee between me and the buyer. This type of service was created a long time ago to protect both buyer and seller, so why do I get bent over in this situation?
It's little things like this that piss me off!

Newsflash - Fiverr is full of idiots - The people who work for fiverr dont know jack abt how their own system works.
but I must say the buyers on fiverr are so dumb.the money is practically free.some people after buying a gig. don't check back to see the gig is complete or not.its hilarious.
this is why i am starting to love it.

Just like with any online sale, you need to do a follow up with the buyer to help get whatever else you may want from them. Whether it be a review or another sale/upsale, Fiverr is no exception. Over 90% of my sales result in feedback left. At least 50% of my buyers also come back for a second or third purchase. You need to stand out.

I was able to send multiple msgs to ppl after they had purchased my gig.
You may want to write in the instructions of the gig next time to contact you via the msging system

I can contact them no problem, once they leave instructions... If they never leave instructions, you can only send them ONE message and that's it.
Since that first order, I did take the download link out of the order instructions so they are forced to contact me.

Re: Fiverr.com - My FU Thread!
Well your trick was quite smart to make money autopilot. good initial twist !
Although, fiverr seems to be more on the side of the customer somehow with their internal policy.
I have an order cancelled because i refuse to do an overwork from the gig which i spent 2 days on it ! SUpport said, "you have to communicate better with your customer... We want you to sell as we earn money on sales"
I sent 10 messages to say no for the extra work he dropped a cancellation request, got the service he paid for, and the deal was off because of an admin.
So now, i'm only selling automatic safe gigs with no quiproco.

yes many times buyer do place an order but they dont bother to reply for instructions asked and those orders cant be accepted and are shown as incomplete .so they do lie there.in that way i did loose 4-5 orders.
when we contact support they r not of much help .Always they say communicate with buyer
but here when the buyer dont reply to instructions we are not able to accept the order nor able to send message.
so Nowadays i just ignore such orders and move on with other orders
.
Think differently to be a winner

So what if he is ? If you are dumb enough to loose your money just like that, then maybe you deserve that kind of a treatment eh ?
I've always finished my orders, but if i find a gig where i could just fuck the buyers in their small and shitty undeveloped brain and get money from it, I WOULD FUCKING DO IT !

Fiverr is protecting their buck as much as they can. Nothing wrong with that.
But its also the other way around. 99% Of the offers there are shitty too.

Agreed. OP honestly, it sounds like it was your dumb move. You did the equivalent of putting the download link at the bottom of a sales page instead of the payment gateway button.
You shouldn't be mad at them. This is the internet. You have to protect yourself and realize HOW you are setting something up before you start complaining.

Re: Fiverr.com - My FU Thread!
fiver r lack of automation. you need to manually deliver even though u r offering some sort of digital goods. There should be a way for instant delivery after payment and order should be marked as "complete" as well. I wrote to support once proposing that. They said, they will think about this in future. So wait for the F U T U R E !!!

I don't know if you've ever set up a fiverr gig but it isn't the easiest thing to do... You get hit with so many errors and they aren't clear as to why. There is no real instructions or a breakdown of how each part works. While they aren't clear with their setup, I lose money. Call it a $4 education lesson as I learn from my mistakes. The reason for this thread is that, it's the principle of the whole thing. Obviously the buyer is happy with their order, or they would complain and dispute it.
+ the quote you agreed to, wasn't about me... but if you think it was my dumb move, feel free to think that way. Truthfully, it is poor business practices on their part and poor support to go along with it. Is fiverr worth 20%? No, that's why I just use them to make new clients and then cut fiverr out of the equation.

They didn't get it for free, they have to purchase the gig and the money has to be secured with Fiverr before Fiverr sends them the instructions. In the instructions is where I had the download link.
I'm guessing you don't make much and have to rely on free things, regardless of morals?

Remember that is a good thing also, your gig will show those orders in active orders, so people will see that you have orders waiting constantly (= your gig i wanted)
but they dont have to mark your completed work as complete, fiverr does it automatically after 3 days.

Re: Fiverr.com - My FU Thread!
@ShiftySituation, this is from Fiverr's TOS:
"All communications, information and files exchange should be performed exclusively using Fiverr's messaging system." - aka you need to deliver your orders manually using the order page exclusively, you can't automate the process, because if the customer runs with your work (he did this intentionally or not, we'll never know, but he left you in trouble, because he didn't respond to your instructions, so your gig cannot be completed, you lost that order and $4), Fiverr can do nothing other than suggesting to contact your customer
i'd say it was your mutual fault, because you let your customer take your work before he responds to your instructions and because Fiverr has this system what you don't know before experiencing it
but i agree, it's retarded that you can't deliver an order until the buyer doesn't respond to your instructions, however there's no perfect solution for this, because if you're offering a backlinking service for instance, you can't start the work until you don't know the website of you customer, hence you cannot deliver until they don't respond to your instructions, at the same time in other cases you shouldn't need to wait for the buyer...
that's why i removed all the instructions from my gigs and i try to include them in the description now
-
-
Re: Fiverr.com - My FU Thread!
You can send more than 1 message if the buyer has not responded to "seller instructions". I have had many instances of this. You need to wait like half a day to send another message. I usually write: "2nd notice: please respond to seller instructions by replying in button tab. I cannot access fiverr order completion page unless you do so. "
If your order doesnt require "buyer instructions" simply leave it blank or the fiverr will think "instructions" are required
At the time you complete the order always write at bottom of order: "If you are satisfied with this gig, I would ask that you leave a positive review". Most times if you do this you will get a positive review(if your gig is worthwhile).
The best part I like about fiverr is NO REFUNDS
-
-
Re: Fiverr.com - My FU Thread!
i'm always adding this line end of the description cause it cuts off huge percent of scammers in your gig which will take your order but also reject it so they can get it free.
backlink gig:
"scammers beware! If refund is asked for non-logical reason and gig is delivered as described (mixed do and no follow link), your site migh be punished by google for some reason."
That scares almost all scammers away, its up to you if your feeling like destroying their sites reputation doing 20k xrumer blast with naughty keywords, or just have it there to scare them.

you don't get it, a service provider can't do shit until the customer doesn't respond to the instructions (if there's any)
it's not because OP doesn't know how to deliver an order, it's because he isn't able to do it until customer responds

Re: Fiverr.com - My FU Thread!
There are a lot of funny sellers on fiverr, they don't have an idea what are quality backlinks etc.

Re: Fiverr.com - My FU Thread!
Interesting to know about this.
I have used Fiverr this last week.
There are a lot of scammers there.
People who write that will deliver 1k face friends to a page.. and.. and.. and... send you an IMAGE about that page.
IT IS RIDICULOUS.
Happily these guys are inside a proxy connection. If they were near you... you could go to prision to fight with them.
I hate people who do this kind of thing. Try to scam others.
---
About OP: I did not know this.
At this moment, I think you can not automate so much. Maybe you can send a INSTRUCTION message like:
"Hey, I'd like to know if I can send you download link. Is it ok?"
Ridiculous, but you will can make the job (not automatic).
Maybe in a near FUTURE you can see something like you wanted.
Good to know this MISTAKES about SELLER and BUYER in Fiverr.
I need to ask a refund and I WIN. Sure, he did not delivered what he promised.

Re: Fiverr.com - My FU Thread!
A similar thing happened to me but i'm the buyer in this situation. I bought a gig and this guy took forever to complete. After 2 weeks he then leaves this message:
"For Fiverr's sake, I'll deliver this as completed first and finish this order by today thanks!"
I respond back 2 days later:
Are you going to finish posting or what?
He says:
Hello sorry for the delay, I'll complete the posting within 2 days and I'll let you know.
Of course he never completes what I paid for, so I emailed Fiverr and they never responded so I went to Paypal and filed a dispute. Then I notice me Fiverr account not working right and email Fiverr again.
These bastards at Fiverr respond and tell me this:
It won't be possible for us to reinstate functionality on your account until PayPal dispute gets successfully closed.
Please make sure that the dispute gets closed so that refund for the order can be placed in your shopping balance and we can withdraw limitations from your Fiverr account.
They fucking suspended my account because this douchebag ripped me off?!?!?! Can somebody tell me how that makes sense?

He wanted to automate the process, which is a good idea and he was thinking creatively, unfortunately it just didn't work. If he had to send a doc each time the gig was bought, its not automated anymore.

Exactly, thankfully it was only the first sale.

Re: Fiverr.com - My FU Thread!
Check out our latest website, skinme5. We offer a similar service, but if you complete the order and deliver it, the buyer has a set period of time to either dispute it or it gets confirmed. We also offer alternatives to Paypal, such as Paxum and Dwolla as payment options.

-
Re: Fiverr.com - My FU Thread!
The buyer probably just doesn't know what is happening. He has bought the gig and thus he's got what he paid for. Because once the buyer orders a gig I believe the money go to fiverr as a mediator between the seller and the buyer. And once the order is marked as completed fiverr gives the money to your account.
Therefore the buyer in this case has no interest to not mark the order as completed or to respond you because he has already gave his money - the 5$ are not in his account anymore. So either with completed or 'stucked' order that way the buyer is in the same situation.
And a lot of buyer just purchase some gig and never actually look at the order page or anything. I've experienced at least 5 buyers who purchased my gig, gave the instructions so I can actually deliver the gig but they never came back to even get what they paid for. It automatically got marked as completed after 3 days. I wrote to the buyers and they never said anything nor left feedback.
