I built a niche blog monetizing Amazon and Adsense for this guy, he paid half upfront and the site was built, revised and tweaked until he was happy. I requested the rest of the payment yesterday and he informed me that he was not going to pay until his adsense account was approved and I added the codes for him.

Now he is saying that he is not going to pay the rest and he is going to call paypal and dispute the first payment even though all of the work was completed by me.

I will fight the dispute on PP but fair warning to anyone thinking about dealing with this member.

make sure to mention it was for a service and the service is completed when you fight paypal. goodluck =/

Post up some proof and let the mods handle it.

He doesn't have too many posts on BHW, just 18... Why did you deal with a member who hasn't got anything to lose if he is consequently banned? Anyway, did you deal with him on BST section (including the Hire A Freelancer)?

I knew the risk I was running dealing with a newer member of the board, but I went ahead and took the job against my better judgement.

The reason he gave me today was that "the site is not done." I told him everything is done and asked what he thought was not finished, he said the Adsense wasn't up yet and the aStore didn't look right - which it wasn't.

He was waiting on account approval from G and I told him as soon as I get the codes I will put them on the site for him. As for the Amazon I told him he had to style it himself under his Amazon Associate account and I would give him instructions or he could give me the log in details and I can do it for him.

From that point he requested a refund after all my effort and I didn't think it was justifiable since I finished my work and was even willing to help him do his small part.

You are likely to win the dispute. That should not be a problem. However, you have learnt a lesson.

I am sure the guy is a complete newbie who does not know how to do those settings. It could also be that the adsense application was not approved and he felt there was no need to continue with the site building.

I just took a look at his site which still has my work up and he must've got his adsense account approved because he has ads up now. Just sent him a message asking if he is going to send payment or not.. guess I will wait for him to respond.

If you can show paypal the completed site, there is a good chance you would win a dispute, but lets hope it doesnt come to that.

I'd be cautious as hell working with any new members on ANY forum, as they think they can fade away since they have nothing invested in the board. This member seems to have done nothing other than purchase services since he joined - slightly odd. He is using a residential IP from California, so if he is a scammer, he is a crap one.

Hopefully he comes by the thread and this can all get resolved.

Thanks for the advice, as far as proof goes the site is still up - all work done by me. I've taken a screenshot incase he decides to take it down or change it. I can also provide Skype logs and PP screen shot.

I have his IP, his name (I think it's him), address and phone number. At this point I have no open disputes in PP but I talked to him earlier on Skype and he told me he is going to call them in the morning.

I will give him a chance to defend his side of the story and check back in the morning.

I guess this guy does not want to state his case, he is informed of this thread and even told me

IMO, It's an easy job to substantiate your claim! IP address of a person using FTP access can be requested and you can get it immediately...

On this point, please request your web host to give a detailed information and submit the same to BHW Moderators within a time-frame suggested by our Mods to authenticate your claim that member Hydro has deleted your files (after this dispute has begun).

Otherwise, it is very hard to believe you now.

As I see it Hydro made a site, and undertook work on Barabakas behalf, this work was not accepted as Barabaka claims it was sloppy and unprofessional. I have asked to see a copy of the completed work to asscertain for myself the level of professionalism.

In cases like this the concept of quantum meruit applies, the job wasnt completed fully, but Hydro is entitled to be compensated for the portion of the job which was completed. The level of this compensation/payment will be determined when I get to see the level of work that was done.

Hydro, I have PM'd you asking for a copy - this should enable me to resolve the matter quickly.
