TheSuperSensation - First, if his paypal is limited, he shouldn't be soliciting freelancers for work or should explain the situation. Looking through the board, I've found at least 4 other people that he's either scammed or tried to...second, with a little more research, I found that this is his MO on alot of other IM boards as well...so I stand behind my statements.

nikkinovie - No problem, we're all here to make money and people like this POS don't just hurt the providers of the services, but the reputation of the board.

I can also vouch that this guy is shady and dishonest. He tried hiring me for some graphic work, I did the work upfront and gave him a watermarked image. He said that he required the complete .PSD file upfront before payment.

From that point I pretty much new it was a scam but I went ahead and sent him the files, ofcourse no payment from him and ran with the work. I vote ban.

Background:

His freelancer thread has been closed with a warning message, and he was asked to reply here within 48 hours also - he replied before I could get around to posting this.

The others sent me previews but they never sent the work. I have skype log records of Hydro saying he GAVE UP with the project.

So they sent you previews - and then what?

It sounds to me as though you are getting previews for free, and then ceasing contact. It also sounds like you have done this to a lot of people not just on BHW but on other boards also. To be clear, did Hydro 'give up' the project without recieving any form of payment?

I'm still waiting for more evidence before I decide on what to do with this matter.

Yes sending watermarked previews is NORMAL, you get the unwatermarked version WHEN you pay.

The designer is showing you that they have done the work, you are expected to PAY before they release it.

HE sent a preview. I did not like it. I asked for something else and he gave up cuz he couldnt do it.

Appreciate the attention...I'm more than willing to take my share of the blame in this, should have known better than to work this way, but jake252167 made the claim that he was under a deadline and that his client wouldn't take JPG proofs so I did it against my better judgement...

Are you claiming that I only sent you previews? I'm pretty sure that anyone one on here that does this kind of work doesn't send PSDs as previews - if they do, they are just looking for the same kind of trouble. You were more than happy with the work that I did, and I even went out of my way to make sure that your client was happy when the job requirements changed...and then you had your "powercut"... Even when it was restored (or you figured out I wouldn't just roll over and take it) and you PM'd me demanding I take down the thread, you still didn't pay...

You have to look at this from my perspective - If it walks like a scammer and talks like a scammer...it's what - a duck?

And why are you waiting to pay me? I sent you payment details through PM once you contacted me and demanded that I remove this thread. If you'd just paid me, I wouldn't have found out about you trying to pull the exact same thing on pritesh32 and Hydro, wouldn't have found the thread where you tried to scam the guy for his domain and I wouldn't have found out about your dealings on other boards...

You need to learn a very good lesson from this and that is the net never forgets and if you piss off the wrong person, you're past will come back and haunt you...

So I can expect the money when?

If thats your attitude, I suggest that based on your other posts on this board, that anyone who feels scammed, contact the UK Serious Organised Crimes Agency SOCA, as Jake has clearly asked for forged passports/birth certificates to support his fake Paypal account (use the search). You should also contact Paypal regarding this.

You should forward his paypal ID, copies of his requests, details of his dealings with you, his previous posts on BHW, any IM info you have for him, check his emails for IPs and computer details. And you can also send his IP which is **.149.240.100.

Jake, I'm content to send on timestamps of your usage also, which will make it very easy to track you right back to your ISP/Home Address.

Are you REALLY sure you want to go down this path, especially considering that people your age got 4 years inside last week for abusing facebook? Your actions are worse.

Giving Jake till the end of today to make this right by BHW members. I dont care about other forums, they are beyond my remit.

If he doesnt, he will be perm banned, with the recommendation that members pursue him into meatspace.

NEVER send your work without payment first! He tried to scum me too but i didn't bite! The simple way is to send a preview of the work he asks you and THEN pay you and send the complete high resolution work
