Timothy Ferris is A TOTAL liar. And I'm serious about it.
You will have a lot of guys defending him if you criticize Tim. But that doesn't change the truth.
If you search Google, you are gonna find some posts from people who have work with him, telling that
he doesn't work 4 hours a week. He works A LOT.
He didn't achieve almost anything he claims hi did. Some of them, he did. But because he lies SO hard on a lot of them (like he was a “guest lecturer” at Princeton), all the crap get's mixed with the little truths. And I'm not even mentioning that all the reviews he got from his book when it was released were fake.
Everybody knows that.
He wasn't making too much money with BranQuicken. Not nearly what he was claiming. And tjis is really important.
Before starting applying his methods, I went to Google and perform a basic search. Back then, he wasn't such a big star, so you could find a lot of great info easily, like the "unsupported claims" section on wikipedia (that's gets deleted over and over for guys that are great at wikipedia's rules). I also saw a video testimonial of him BEFORE 4HWW... you have to see it.
What I'm trying to say here is that Timothy Ferriss it a great self-marketer. But his "system" does not work. And that it's what matter to us.
Every time you criticize a self help guru, you are going to get a rant from a lot of people saying "he is the real deal, I just work 4 hours per week and I make 40k". But that's a lie too.
He might be "inspiring" (if that inspire you), but so is religion. And we all know they are both a lie.
Inspiration, sometime, can be found in a turd. So you can take what the book may have give you: you don't have to ask for permission to work less, outsource, etc. That did nothing for me, cause I already knew that (and I was doing it), but not all of us start from the same place.
You lost some time. I'm sorry. But a lot of us chase the wrong star at a point in our life. It's not that terrible. Rant, relax and move on.
A big hug (a manly hug).
