Rankbox SCAM: The THIEF ExtremeSEO

Hey Guys,

it's about:

RANKBOX [or Call it ThiefBOX] Creator SEOExtreme

This is my first shitlist thread in my 3 years of stay on BHW.

My name is Carson Rathi and i am the creator of a plugin called WPsbox.

Today a member here, username: ExtremeSEO opened a BST thread
selling a wordpress plugin called RankBox.

So, i received a message from my WPsbox buyer that someone has opened a BST here on BHW which is a plugin and looks like related to WPsBOX.

I jumped in and PURCHASED a copy of WPsbox plugin and you know what...The guy not just copied CODE of my plugin, he has certainly copied whole damn file, the source code of my WPsBOX in his Rankbox selling here.

I instantly contacted moderator and provided him relevant proof, so BST is CLOSED (thanks to mods) however i want to give heads up to other members, to stay away from ExtremeSEO and his products. He is a SCAMMER, lier and Thief.

He is such a lame copy/paster that he even copied my affiliate code with files

On asking him, his reply was that he used a GPL source, then i asked for the source of GPL code, then he replied that he used a "Small snippet" of code. This is something which pissed me off, first he copied my plugin source file and now he is telling me it's GPL?? This noob doesn't know that how me and my developer worked 18hrs a day to write each and every line of code, tested it, rectified error, lots of trial and error and then we are able to make WPsBOX.

Further, to show all BHW members and Rankbox buyers, that what he did, i have created a video. I have shown only some files and data he has copied and even a non tech person can understand the video:

Copying someone's source code is not only against any forums TOS, it is illegal too. So, from ExtremeSEO:

1) REFUND all buyers as what you have sold includes my core coding, you do not have ANY right to sell it.

2) Public apology for not doing anything as such.

3) Remove his domain and plugin asap, as it up till now.

For mods: I have both plugins with me and Wiz also have both the plugins. You can check the authenticity of video by matching both codes.

Though this guy deserved permanent ban however i am sure moderators will decide it.

Any Rankbox buyer can ask for demo copy of WPsbox plugin and see themselves what i am talking about.

Just to let every one know, the "code" or i say files this guy stole from my plugin once removed:

If he remove my code files, then his plugin won't be able to do :
1) Scraping of Google
2) Proxy Support
3) Decapthcer integration
4) Auto approve list upload.
5) Check for approval
6) Campaign creation
7) Log area
8) Settings for campaign
9) Comment posting (This is major thing as comment yields backlinks)

In short, he backlink plugin won't be able to do any backlinking because for all backlinking mechanism he has straight away stole from my plugin.

Overall, rankbox would be straight away useless.

So, ExtremeSEO, please delete my complete coding (in short those 5-6 files) and its good to start your own.

LOL if you bought a lifetime license (like I did) he won't give you a refund.

I asked for a refund until everything gets cleared up again in which case I would repurchase the goods and this is what he skyped me:

For monthly members, I can give refunds due to the security checks.  However, with Lifetime members, there are much less security checks and more likely of potential source code snatching.

I'm not trying to say that you are stealing, I'm just telling you that is how the industry is unfortunately

What policy? You had a 24hr refund period (which I am very well within) and nothing mentioned about lifetime access being exempt from such policy. As a matter of fact, as of this writing, your "policy" page on your MAIN OFFICIAL sales page doesn't even have a policy page at all! The policy link goes to the homepage...so you can make up whatever policies you want!

LOL. Time to do a chargeback.

Why would the GPL community work on software of this nature? Well if they are lets tell htem about Xr, SB and SEnuke, GPL version of these will totally change the game.

Wow.. This is really bad. As a product developer myself I can totally understand how you would feel. We have had our products cracked and distributed for free and that felt horrible! This Is even worse! :/

To extremeseo I would recommend giving the developer some kind of royalty or buying the product off him to sort things out. Customers should be the first priority in this for the mods. They dint do anything and should not suffer!

Yes buddy, i dont want any royalty from him however he don't have any right to sell my work to anyone. He should immediately refund all buyers and close his site + domain. That's all i want.

First and foremost...the plugin has over 150 files within it, It is a very large plugin and contains numeras features beyond comment posting.

This is quoted from Wiz:

For those that are just tuning in, the dispute is NOT over the plugin, but A FEATURE within the plugin - the comment poster.

WordPress tries EXTREMELY hard to make every function of WordPress Free to the public. For this reason, WordPress and WordPress Functions fall under what we call a "GPL Licence."

The issue comes into play over the LONG DISPUTED (not just here) argument over WordPress Plugins falling under GPL.

Feel free to read the GPL...but the long story short is that any plugin that requires WordPress functionality..hooks...etc...falls under GPL. If it is within WordPress but does not require WordPress functionality...to work, then it doesn't fall under GPL.

The reason behind this is so that you may change or edit WordPress files, features, functions...etc. So, by you/allowing you to editing a WordPress file from a theme or plugin to use in a WordPress environment...this is why GPL was created.

GPL enables you to basicly take a WordPress file and developer/design/program it to your needs....among many other things.

In regards to this case....there were certain features/functionality that DID fall under GPL within his script. Were they used in Rankbox? Yes. However, many things within these certain files were heavily modified to give features, add features, delete features...etc.

But....this "Code" that we are all speaking off only consists of about 10% of the entire plugin. That is why I stated that it was a Feature Dispute, rather than a Plugin Dispute.

As I had stated in the thread, there were 10 BETA TESTERS from BHW that I did not know personally that were chosen mainly upon their post count/achievements here within BHW.

For those that have the Rankbox service, you WILL continue to be serviced, continue to receive your 5,000 daily backlinks, and continue to have access to the member dashboard to purchase discounted AA lists and member only downloads.

From the video, it is pretty obvious that that rankbox copied the whole WPsbox source. The structure of codes are same. There are only some lazy minor changes to some variable names.

This is a nonsense....you have clearly copied carsonrathi's plugin...I bought rankbox and now want a refund, all buyers should be given the choice of a refund or staying with rankbox...regardless of whether they bought a lifetime licence or not!!

This kind of scam can not be tolerated and is highly deceitful and dishonest.

Don't try to hide behind the GPL, you forfeit your rights under that license by including features that allow the bypassing of security features on other sites. Decaptcha is a dmca violation. I'm not saying that's just or fair; just the facts. You can't position yourself behind the shield of licenses and law while violating them yourself.

You will be held accountable for your slack attitude in dealing with this situation, so it's in your best interest to respond in this thread and work out the refunds for the people that want that.

He need to refund all buyers and kill this entire plugin as you have stolen the 'sole' of my plugin, which is the core coding.

I don't have time to read the entire GPL rules.Can anybody confirm this? does that mean i can copy the code of an existing plugin which requires wordpress functionality, and rename and sell as my own plugin? I think GPL rules are formed so that coders can access the source code and make it a better program.This is how firefox and VLC player is updated.

The reason I said this this may be a MORAL issue is very important.

If you have copied carsonrathi's code and used basically the same
interface, then you have stolen his work. Forget the GPL license
technicality. You have MORALLY ripped him off and need to make
restitution to those who put their good faith in ME as the reviewer
and YOU as the seller.

There's a really big difference between editing a plugin for 'your needs'....and editing a plugin (because that's what you've done) to SELL.

This has nothing to do with my opinion, but I bought Carson's plugin on WF, and it's fantastic. And whether or not you only use this as 'part' of your plugin, it doesn't make any difference, if anything it makes you look even more condescending like this is something that just doesn't matter to you as it's only a 'part'.

Also the comment about not coming back here and only replying to PM's...guilty conscience maybe?

Didn't you hear the guy? You can copy his whole source code and give away for free or even create a sales page and resell it because it is GLP as all WP plugins!
