Default Scam alert *has nothing to do with BH*

Well figured I would add my scam alert here .

My host CostULessHosting just took down my website and everything .

Let me explain this a little more 3 months ago I bought this website with hosting for about 150.00 (that is alot of money for me) With hosting of about 9.99 a month .

Everything went smooth I offerd my traffic at DP only I advertised no where else sent no emails or anything .

He took down my site yesterday he did not contact me or anything . When I contacted him he said it was because I was bulk spamming . That is an outright LIE ! No way in gods green earth did I bulk email anyone .

I asked him to provide proof or please surrender at least the files to me . I have had no response . I did a whois his telephone number is incorrect . His fax is 1 555555555 like that is correct . His domain is registered at name cheap .

What can I do ? Past couple days I have been making quite a bit of money off of DP selling traffic . Now I am loosing money . I do not have my files . Everything is gone .

My dad said he thinks I was scammed . Said it is possible the guy just had me keep the site just long enough so I could not do a charge back on the 150.00 . I am not sure that is the case but one thing i can say is the dood definately scammed me !!!!

You could still charge back, but it depends on how you paid this person. If you used a visa/mc card or a debit card you can charge back for up to 1 year. If you used paypal I believe it's 180 days, I am not 100% sure though. If you used paypal tied to a visa/mc you can chargeback too. If it was withdrawn from your checking account you're at the mercy of paypal.. Why not try to dispute and see what happens?

If the contact information is invalid for his domain name, email support@namecheap.com,abuse@namecheap.com ,subject: ICANN VIOLATION : Invalid contact information domainame.com ...
good luck.

Ah yea.. Then you're at the mercy of paypal.. Good luck with that. You should still be able to open a dispute, if anything that will get that person's attention..

Thanks once again . I will try to open a dispute . I just have no clue the motivation behind this persons actions . Why would he want to throw away a good residual income for a few dollars?

I just do not get it ? You think he might try to get my domain as well ? Report to namecheap that I am spamming or something?

Namecheap like most registrars won't yank a domain name unless there's a considerable amount of spam complaints.
At least this is a lesson learned; backup your goodies and don't trust cheap hosting..

Hello,

First I would like to add that this person was contacted several times by our support and accounts department as we were more than willing to try and work with this customer however we did not receive a response from the customer. The customers account was closed due to commercial bulk emailing we do not tolerate SPAM mailings of any kind we have other customers that need to be protected and if we allow someone to send SPAM there is a good chance we could be black listed.

It states very clearly in our TOS about SPAM mailings and this customer had to agree to our TOS before using our services.

The customer lost all files associated with there account because we do not keep backups of every customers website again it states very clearly in our TOS about backups. We have been looking into possibly doing daily backups of all customers sites in the near future.

The reason we responded to this forum topic is not to bad mouth this customer but to at least post our side of this issue. We have many customers and we try to make sure all of our customers are happy with our services in this case the customer did not want to reply so there was not much we could do.

Please also note that we do not sell websites on eBay we have a contact that does then they refer the customer to us for hosting services. I suggest you contact the eBay seller regarding the amount you paid for the website.

Regards,
James G.

I didn't hear any proof in there about how the guy was supposedly spamming. A domain host that does not backup? Didn't know there was such a thing.

Hmm also funny that no proof was giving of spamming .There was never any spamming done .

It is funny maybe if i woulda opted for the lifetime hosting off xxx.xx i would not have been fraudulently accused of spamming .

Well just goes to show you / You get what you pay for . Do not host with these guys .

Anyway I got everything switched over to a new host . On a clean template . So everything should go fine now . Once again do not trust these guys . SCAM!! BAD!!

I am also making some anti - sites so everyone is aware .

They should have researched me just a little more . Picked the wrong dude to scam.

I am pissed beyond words but started to get over it till he post some ridiculous bullcrap .

I think another thing that might have happened is they have a traffic site like mine and where advertising on DP like me and I started cutting into there biz. Only thing I can think of . Because lord knows I never spammed emails .
