Default Namecheap

fucking namecheap nameservers going down fucked up all of my redirections. 83 domains currently sitting idle pointing to lala land! Guess today is going to be a zero income day. wtf

I am working to resolve the dns issues with namecheap for anyone trying to reach any of my support forums.

namecheap has always worked great for me, but I've always used it with another host. A lot better than someone like godaddy, that takes your domain if you get any complaints or use your domain against their TOS, while namecheap says they have no way in checking what you do with your domain.

They are only having probs if you are using redirects and they have a temp fix on their site to keep you going whilst they are sorting it out.

Has been going on for a few hours tho!

yeah, i got my main sites back up. Its actually been more than a few hours. Its been 10 hours to be exact.

Also their bulk editing tool is putting me into a forever long queue, so I had to do each site manually one by one.

Whoa! I'm really surprised to hear this. Namecheap is one of the better companies I've dealt with. Keep us updated as to how their cust svc does ya. Stuff happens, we all know. It's how we're treated (when it does happen) that makes all the difference between us fleeing or staying as customers.

well i have not dealt with any customer support (not really needed), they are aware of the problem and are in the process of fixing it. Just takes time, but this shit should have been auto switched over instead of having us to manually do it ourselves. its called redundancy, which is why they use two nameservers in the first place. I guess NS1 and NS2 failed at the same time?

What happened to your sites sucks.

But IMO, namecheap is still the best service for domains and I had good experience with support when I needed them.

Hopefully the DNS problems won't be back soon.

well after manually fixing all of my sites to the backups posted on their announcement page, they somehow managed to fuck it up again, now only half my sites are back up that I fixed, and the other half are not fixed, as per their instructions.

Im in the middle of a very big project. Go figure it happens the day I start extensive testing.

dnsmadeeasy.com. they do dns hosting. i would never use registrar's dns services.. they're usually overloaded and have shitty interface.

Its my own fault, i dont blame anyone for this. I was lazy, i should have hosted my own inhouse dns.

I have been very happy with namecheap until a few weeks ago.

On all of my domains I use the privacy (which namecheap include free for 1st year) now their policy is if you purchase their whoisguard it is only valid starting from the date of purchase not date of renewal.

Yes I could consolidate to a common renewal date - pain in the ****

So now if you want to keep your info private you have to renew both the domain name and whoisguard on the same date - even bigger pain.

Have logged a support ticket to see if this can be changed.
