The Shit ListPeople and Companies to Stay away from!
I've learned the world is full of shitty people, scam artists, crooks, robbers, cyber punks. Report them here so other people don't get taken!
lol fortunately for were i live verizon doesn't exist but on the flipside we have a company called telstra, they are as crooked as you get and are a monopoly. massive companies like these that don't care for the consumer really shit me up the wall
I looked into getting the FIOS bundle, since I already had DSL internet through them. In the end I did not sign up BUT immediately after I expressed interest in a bundle my download speed slowed to a crawl. I guess they were trying to motivate me to switch.
megabump their customer service really does suck, I'm with them now. A few months ago I upgraded my internet DSL service to a higher speed. They told me that no one would have to come out because everything is done in their office. On the day it was supposed to take effect, it didn't work. So I called and they told me that someone would have to come out. So I made an appointment for the following day. Guess what, no one showed up. I wasted a whole day waiting for them.. By this time I was steaming. I called customer support and they told me the date had been moved to the following week. Why in the hell didn't someone call me you ask? She couldn't give me an answer. Can you hear the steam whistle going off in my head?
I demanded to speak to a supervisor, which I did and he apologized profusely and rescheduled everything. Someone finally showed up on the rescheduled date and it took two hours for them to get it to work. Come to find out, it was all a problem with some type of switching mechanism in their office. What an f'ing mess. The whole time the guy was here, he was on speaker phone so I could hear everything.
From all of what I heard, they are gearing up to launch Fios in many different areas and aren't paying as much attention to DSL anymore. A lot of their DSL techs are are in training classes learning the new Fios system which means they don't have as many techs available. They are really pushing this Fios sytem and trying to get away from DSL as much as possible. It's going to be a long time before customer service improves.
Verizon's customer service is so bad, that I used to have to take the day off (seriously) when I needed to call them. They also outsource their call centers to to India, so you can't understand anything they are saying.
They also just came into out backyard (without first knocking) and starting spray painting lines on our landscaping. Needless to say they hauled ass and called the cops on my when I flashed my Glock... However, I was in the right and they had to leave (we don't have any easements on our property, though Missy does). Felt pretty good to legally use excessive force.
