Ok here's the deal:
1. I browsed LowEndBox.com and saw a BuySellAds ad about Virpus.
2. I went ahead and purchased their U-Basic plan for $5 because it looked like a great deal.
3. Waited ~8 hours for VPS to get activated (Even if it says Instant Activation on the Order Page).
4. Couldn't connect to VPS via ssh. Looks like Network problem. So, I opened ticket about it.
5. Received a reply in 20 minutes and issue got fixed right away.
6. Started to setup VPS. Realised that connection speed was like 24kb/s when doing an update or when installing a software with apt-get (Debian) or yum (redhat based) or when fetching packages with wget.
7. Opened ticket about that.
8. Received a reply in an hour and they told me that they are forwarding the ticket to senior tech.
9. Waited ~24 hours but didn't receive any reply. Started to feel angry (duh).
10. Replied to ticket asking for quick action.
10.5 Called their Toll-Free number but it was busy! It was always busy (how weird).
11.5 Opened another ticket asking for refund.
11. Received a reply on next day. They asked me to give the VPS a try. I logged into VPS via ssh and I still get crappy connections.
12. Tell them about it.
13. After 2 days!!!! They show me a speed test and they are getting speeds like 8MB/s on my VPS. (See pictures below)
14. I logged into VPS and try to download the same file and I get like ~126KB/s . Go ahead and laugh!!!
15. I tell them about it.
16. They close the ticket!!!!!!! What the hell??? They close my ticket without acting on it?
17. Opened another ticket with subject: SOLVE MY PROBLEM OR SEND ME REFUND.
18. They replied in ~3 hours and told me that there was a network problem and they fixed it.
19. I log into VPS and do the speed test again. Still ~125KB/s !!!!!
19.5 I opened Paypal dispute
20. They replied to my refund ticket ( after 3 days at last!!!) and asked me to cancel my account and they would send me refund right afterwards. I did it promptly.
21. They didn't send refund but instead went to Paypal and escalated the dispute to a claim! They are Scam Artists.
So, they waited for me to cancel my account so that they don't have to send any refund. I guess that had it all planned from the beginning. I am sure that I'm not the only one to have experienced this with Virpus by now and I am sure they will continue to do that. But anyway, I am just sharing a bad experience. As you can see above, they ARE scammers. All the proof is here.
I am not arguing with them because of a mere $5 bill but I am just really pi$$ed off that they did that!
