I've spent the better part of this weekend removing my first malware/adware infection, after having been online since '89.

This was a rough one. BASTARDS!

you should install ubuntu hardy. :D
I've been using it now for 4 days straight, I still have the windoze desktop plugged in so I can VNC to it.. I'm trying to make a change so I stop playing fucking games all day and get work done. :D

thats what nasty porn sites do to you these days lmfao

Of course, as a single mother I didn't appreciate spending my time this weekend reconstructing one of my work machines.

I would have preferred to spend that time with my kids.

I'm glad you had a good laugh.

one program that works best removing these types of programs is smitfraudfix

even the latest malware that is not detectable yet by your antivirus can be disabled by this program. Saves me a lot of time.

I second that. I got unbuntu running on all my pc's and one of my old boxes is dual boot incase the wife wants to use MS office. I do not worry about defraging, spyware or viruses anymore.

Plus it makes my older hardware run Hella Fast!

Smitfraudfix is the way to go. I shot myself in the foot like a jackass yesterday morning working on some code, even though I KNEW what I was looking for I couldn't get it out with Kaspersky/AdAware/Spybot. Smitfraudfix got it right away.

Kaspersky is the best to PREVENT, but when you're already fucked Smitty's got ya covered.

as a single dad I know the feeling, I spent most of my weekend working to meet a client deadline, would have much rarther spent time with the kids so I know exactly what you mean hun

single parents FTW - we are the REAL workers

I use Nod32 and Malware's too. What was the cause of the infection anyway?

that's a false positive. Just make sure it's from their official website

I saw that one on geekstogo, but I seemed to have gotten most of the crap removed with superantispyware & malwarebytes.
