Default Advice Needed Please.

I know this may be a bit random but I feel some of you may have an answer for me. Basically I sold a piece of software on amazon, and sent the item without tracking to the guy. After a month he e-mails me saying he didn't receive and he wants a refund. I tried to tell him that the item should've arrived over two weeks ago and he cried more about getting refund which I refused. He then took a claim out with amazon and they tell me I may have to give a refund unless I can provide tracking information / some sort of information but I have nothing. I posted the item at a local shop which has a mini post office but I have none of the reciepts :| is there any way around this? I think the guy is full of shit because anything i've ever posted has been received and my first item listed on amazon, as opposed to ebay he claims. Any advice or info appreciated

thanks in advance

If you are in he USA, ALWAYS get a tracking number as it costs only $.75 or so and you will never have the problem again.

Talk to your person behind the counter at the USPS to get this done.

I've been selling products on amazonebayhalf and a few others for 8 years, I always use tracking and if it is over $100 insurance as well.

The scammers out there look for noob sellers and actually hope that they will not use tracking. Instant refund in their mind.

Force the A-Z guarantee, as I recall buyers only get 3 claims.

I also guilt em a bit "Please ask your letter carrier to look into this for you, it may have been put on a shelf in the backroom, letter carriers can lose their job if they lose too many packages"

How do you know that the shop you dropped it off at actually mailed it???

I just got an e-mail saying that the refund has been initiated? They didn't even give me a chance to respond saying I will attempt to provide tracking info. I'm from the UK and I usually post at the same place which is a mini post office and I have never had any problems. The bank they are charging the amount to is my defauly bank with zero cash in it so GL to them and if I incur fee's isn't that an unauthorized amount being taken? I'm pretty pissed at amazon, they made like 80$ from this and I'm supposed to be paying back £150. Fuckers
