No. The last thing on earth that I want to read after I open a thread that registers as "new post" is a 2 month old thread that was bumped because some guy decided it was a "super cool share" and needed to let the rest of the forum know that he approves this message.

Unless I'm wrong, this is the right place to moan and complain, so that's where I'm doing it.

I hate seeing them too. And since the Jr. VIP section is based partly on having a certain number of posts, it is even more discouraging to see. I also hate going to a thread that I think has new, valuable information added to it only to find a 'nice post, nice share, thanks, you rock, dood shut the fuck up' in it. Mad props to you if you have the time to go through the people's posts; would only suck if it's just done in vain. Perhaps something will come to your efforts though.

Granted, I have also seen people who have been members here less time than I have, and they have post counts as high as 1400 to 1600 posts. And yes - most of their posts consist of one short sentence of less than 25 characters. Most likely, they just want to jack up their post count so they can get the pretty stars next to their avatar. Your statement (as irrational as it may have been presented), points out a problem, but it also presents a problem. . . .

Is everyone supposed to walk around on eggshells and sit there and count the characters of each of their posts to make sure that they have complied with some type of predetermined minimum character count? . . That would be quite restrictive, wouldn't it?

So what is the answer? . . . Well, you have presented a problem, so rather than concentrating on the problem, why don't you come up with a proposed solution?

Personally, I trust the people here at BHW, and I believe that if the mods were to send an email to everyone and suggest that we at least be aware of making super short posts, the problem would dissolve to some degree. Not completely, but at least to some degree.

However, I do think that if YOU continue with the current "Gestapo Mentality" that you have so blatently displayed in this thread, you probably will end up with very few friends here. Remember my friend, these are PEOPLE you are addressing and NOT ANIMALS! . . . So, I would show a little respect and humility if I were you.
