As you guys probably know, Godaddy uses Domains by Proxy for their domain private registration. Apparently, all you have to do is report a domain to the BBB as a scam to get Domains by Proxy to hand out all of your personal information. Though I simply deleted the domain from my account to keep this from happening, Domains by Proxy stated they will give X amount of days before they supply the BBB with my personal information.

What a bunch of BULL that is. What good is privacy registration if a NON GOVERNMENT organization can simply inquire about a domain and Domains by Proxy simply hand it over. It's funny, the BBB actually thinks they are the FBI.

Godaddy is garbage
Domains by proxy is garbage

I know there has been hundreds of discussions here on where to register domain names. But who has the best privacy registration company that actually respects your privacy?

the problem with all the largest and most well known companies is that they all follow the law by the letter.

I never knew this, thanks for the info. Can you suggest any domain providers that dont do this??

name.com has free privacy protection using coupon "FREEWHOIS". i love their simple interface

Yep, Domains by Proxy sucks and their privacy is a joke.. They will look for any reason to hand out all of your personal information.. Domains by Proxy forwarded me a letter from the BBB and added that in 15 days they will release all of my information to the BBB. The BBB is nothing but a modern day mafia. They solicit businesses to pay a membership fee, and when you don't pay, you can expect bad press releases on a monthly basis. The BBB has even started associating themselves with high ranking blogs to ruin your reputation online. They are expanding from brick and mortar businesses to online businesses to further fatten their cookie jar..

Privacy???.... that is sooooooooooo 1980's
