Small gripe
I'll be short and sweet.
I wish all posters well, but this forum is supposed to be about making money, not making thanks points.
I get a really odd feeling when a person asks you to thank him, sort of like when a comedian tells one unfunny joke after another in public. A lot of people are doing it now and it comes across like begging for attention.
It's embarrassing.
It's OK to thank someone.
It's OK to share.
It's even OK to feel good when people thank you.
But fer Keriiiiist sake, let's go after making money, not some virtual payoff that has no value.
Damn!!!
(OK, I'm done.)

Re: Small gripe
Agreed. Thanks basically have zero value on this forum, so begging for Thanks is kind of pointless. Unless your Thanks count somehow strokes your ego?

Re: Small gripe
Yup.... I agree with you....
I don't understand why people is asking for it...Just share things here and if somebody wants to thank you, just take it..If not , don't even bother asking it...

Agreed Clix. Not only is it pointless, it's really pathetic and definitely selfish. Giving to the community SHOULD BE THE REWARD in itself.

Re: Small gripe
Stumickle, think about the people that are obsessed with getting things, accumulating thanks, for some, is no different than accumulating money. Some people have to get the most of everything. Tell them piles or manure are the thing to have and they will collect mountains of it.
And there are those that need the ego stroking.

Re: Small gripe
I totally agree with you!
However, having posts that have dozens of "Thanks" attached to it,
is better than having a thread spammed with 15 f*cking 3 word posts!
There's nothing that annoys me more than that.
And that is why I always mention the thanks button whenever I contribute something (or at least try to),
because I certainly do not want to have a good thread totally messed up,
just because some newbies are on a spamming spree!
I hope you don't think i do this to gain attention,
as that is definetly not why i'm doing this.
[What would i get from it? I don't even have an aff link in my sig..]

Re: Small gripe
The Thanks system is constantly being reset anyway. That gives it even less value. Why beg someone for it? It's like putting a pistol to someones head and telling them "Throw me a birthday party!! NOW!" and then when you arrive at the party you're all, "OH! WHY THANK YOU! You're all so kind!"
[eyeroll] lol
Btw ppl if you like this post, click Thanks! (rofl)

Re: Small gripe
I had to do it you know, I just had too.
What we need to do is start the world's biggest thank you thread.

Re: Small gripe
I actually like the fact that we lost rep and thanks a couple of times. You can see who contributes or not after a while. Names just start to stick in your head after you see enough posts from one person.

A thank-you is like respect; It has to be earned and asking, cajoling or begging for it is reason enough not to ever get it.
