Default Project Payday SCAM - Stay Away

Few months ago when I came across Project Payday I was very excited.

You will get $1.50 (sometimes even $3.00 if you're good) for every single free signup from leads.

In their policy, they did NOT state about conversion rates or whatsoever. So I went to do word-of-mouth advertising for them, in a whitehat way.

I manage to get 10 signups on the first day of my advertising methods, then 20 on the next day. Everyday my leads begin to grow.

When I reach around $90 or so, the affiliate manager e-mailed me that I should find more "targeted leads" who actually "converts" for them.
I replied saying that i will bear that in mind and tried to target clients who can actually convert on their side later.

Then few days later, my payout reached $106+... the affiliate manager e-mailed me and said I was BANNED for not bringing converting leads to them.
I'm like, "wtf?" I mean their policy did not state at all.
But the affiliate manager did tell me that she will send out any payments that they owed me for the leads - which was about $106+.

I was denied access to my referral/leads payout page immediately when I'm banned.

I waited for at least 4 weeks but I have not received any cheque, so I e-mailed to ask them. The affiliate manager said she has sent out the cheque to me on 26 August 2009. She later ask if I entered my personal particulars and address correctly. I said I did. But she never replied since.

I mean, common'... Clickbank cheques took roughly 2-3 weeks to get to me. It's 14th October as of today which is nearly 8-weeks now!

I sent out a message few days ago but did not receive any reply.

So beware, stay away from that shitty referral program.
I've tried many content spinners and WordAi is by far the best.

BlackSeng, that's pretty normal. If the company is not happy with the quality your sending, they have every right to get rid or demote you.
BUT if they said they would pay you for leads already accumulated, then i'd ring them once more and state thaqt fact again.

    Thanks, graphicnut.

Well, it's understandable to get banned. But I don't see the reason why they should like about the payout... but oh well, I don't take it seriously though.. cos' it's my first attempt on CPA or referral program... i did it just for fun.

    Delayed Update:

Finally... after sending a few support tickets previously, they have replied me.

They said they have issued a new cheque again. But I doubt they are teling the truth since it's already more than a week and I have not received anything from them in my mailbox yet.

But well, let's see if I will receive it in another week or so since I'm living far from U.S

BlackSeng , i am sure you will receive the CHEQUE from Project Pay day ASAP.
I know they bannn their affiliates when they see anything like FRAUD or if the lead does not convert to a paying trial member after the successful signup ( from PPD referral URL)... I am doing BH leads with them and been getting paid since 3 consecutive months on time by PAYPAL.

Sadly no. They claim they have sent out another cheque but I DID NOT receive it.

I asked them if they will send me via paypal but they said they do not support it anymore. Jeez... It seems like they're trying to get away with it.

I urge everyone to stay away from this scamming company if you're looking for free signup referrals.

I haven't used them in the past 6 months, but before then I was using them for the past 12-18 months and never had an issue with being banned or not receiving payment.

They've been pulling this act for years. I started promoting them back when they were first getting started and they did the same thing to me. I didn't even know any Blackhat techniques then...I sent them nothing but Google Adwords traffic. Not *MY* fault they don't convert on the backend.

I can understand banning affiliates who send fraudulent traffic, but this was ridiculous. Every lead they got from me was someone who was interested in the product, and signed up accordingly. If they don't pull out the wallet for the paid membership, that's not fraud, that's bad marketing on the back end.

If you only want to pay for paid signups, then don't claim to pay for free ones. Project Payday sucks, and their spot on the Shit List is well-earned.

Interesting, I just posted last night how I made over $10k through their aff program and got paid every cent. Not saying they are not jerking you around, because they probably are.

All I know is myself and many others have used them with great success.

That sucks man, I hope you get your money.

Project Payday switched from paypal months ago; August 19, 2009 to be exact. It's in some official statement in the member control panel.

If you are promoting Project Payday through our Referral Program, please be aware that although not every member you refer will have to become a fully activated member, your lead quality will be monitored, and we reserve the right to discontinue accepting leads from any source at any time. Also, Project Payday will not payout on more than one (1) lead per IP address, nor will it allow payment on any leads deemed fraudulent.

They do warn people about lead quality>conversions.

Yes, that is the problem, darknuzzie.

They did not inform me in the first place when I join their affiliate program.
But I apologize if I'm ignorant but I remember reading their affiliate agreement and such and they did not state about quality leads. I don't know if they changed their policy now.

Also, when I was informed by my manager to get better quality leads, I've marketed my link to the masses already. Therefore I couldn't do anything much.

What pisses me off now is.. if they're not paying, they can just say so rather than making me wait with hope all the time. It's really pissing me off.

They do state about quality. It's there for all to read. Their policy has been the same now for a very long time. The problem is that people, in their excited state, forget to go over the details.

I don't know the exact details betwen you and ppd, so I can't really comment on either side as far as exacts, but I do know that your dispute alone doesn't indicate "scam".

Is your check being mailed out from the US to another country? that could be a huge part of the delay. (but of course, I don't speak for them; I'm just making a suggestion). Sometimes checks take forever to get cut, and they get cut 1 time a week, plus slow office clerical people, plus post office - now add INTL into the equation.

I hope you get paid or get told you're not getting paid.

    Best of luck

it has been more than a month

I guess I will just drop it and concentrate on my current affiliate networks.
