What is socks proxy and what is http proxy ? are packetflip shared proxies socks proxy or http proxy and if it's http proxy, can they be use with software that needs socks proxy ?

You can use Socks proxies for practically all internet protocol connections (http, ftp, mail, etc), whereas http proxies only forward http requests (like websites).

I have proxies from packetflip, they are ip : port : username : password

The port is some 5693 something, are these socks proxies or http proxies ?

I'm trying to use sockscap and they ask to use socks proxies, I'm wondering if I can use the proxies I have.I don't know whether i have socks or http proxies.

Packetflip's are http proxies, so you won't be able to use them with sockscap.

I'm now in search of a really fast socks proxies, can you recommend some service that are good and not expensive? also, what should I be looking for, socks 4 or socks 5 ?

I need about 50 proxies.

Glad I could help. Use Socks5 preferably. I cannot recommend a good Socks5 provider, maybe someone else will be able to. However, there are websites where daily lists of socks4 and socks5 proxies are published, but you'll need a reliable proxy tester software in order to use them, and of course being free and coming from who-knows-where you must exercise caution.

*Edit*: I just remembered there's a user around here that seems to specialize in socks5 proxies; it's even part of his name or something, maybe he'll be able to help you.
