Recommend Paid Proxy with IP/URL block
I'm using software to query Google for data, and lately, Google has been blocking my requests almost immediately. This is getting really annoying, as all I want is keyword data.
The software does allow me to use a proxy, but the problem is that the software first accesses its "home" server to check for updates, etc. and I need to block this. Currently, I don't use a proxy, so I am able to block this with the hosts file in Win7. There are no settings in the software to turn this off.
Is there a proxy service out there (am willing to pay for it) that will let me set certain IP/URLs to be blocked?

But why it's not working from hosts file?

Yeah, I'm confused, too. I thought you said that the hosts file is working to circumvent the application checking for updates and things of that nature?

Re: Recommend Paid Proxy with IP/URL block
Hosts file only blocks the software when it accesses the internet through my ISP. If I go through a proxy, the hosts file does nothing to block the software from accessing its "home" server, because the connection is through the proxy server. The proxy server is not listed in the hosts file (which would defeat the purpose).
Therefore, I need the proxy server to block certain IP's or certain URLS. THink of it as being a hosts file on the proxy server, instead of the client machine that the application resides on.
Make sense?

Re: Recommend Paid Proxy with IP/URL block
update: I can't even check a single keyword (and I have dozens, and sometimes hundreds) because Google is blocking even these single keyword inquiries. REEALLY F&*#ing ANNOYING!

Re: Recommend Paid Proxy with IP/URL block
I've been doing a little searching.
I think what I want is essentially a proxy service that has user configurable filtering. I can enter the sites I want to block in my proxy service account.
Anyone know of a proxy service like this?
