Default How do I change my IP with Centurylink

This thread was running well in another forum, but now it's inaccessible for some reason.

I'm trying to change my IP with Centurylink. I have a Zyxel 660 modem, the EQ model (no internal router). I've tried all the stuff by changing the MAC address of my 3rd party router and all that (this used to work perfectly with Comcast). Tried unplugging the modem for 5 minutes etc. Still get the same IP.

SO ... somebody was saying I had to bridge my modem and then wire up and run my router as a simple switch. Then do an ipconfig /release - ipconfig /renew.

The last thing I asked was how do I bridge my 660 modem?

There is a reset button on the back by the power cord. Hold it down for about 8-10 seconds and it will reconfigure with a new IP address. I need to figure out the script to automate this with clad genius. Anybody have any ideas?

    Thanks...

Although not revolutionary, here's what I've discovered so far. First of all I have my 660 modem in Bridge Mode (the modem is basically transparent). When I want to change my IP, I first switch off the modem. I then use a nice little app (PBDownForce) to temporarily change the MAC address of my NIC. Then I power back up my modem. The ISP "sees" that there is a new/different piece of hardware on the line and assigns it a new IP. Then I can quit PBDownForce. Been working nicely so far.
