What are scrapebox proxies?

When people are listing scrapebox proxies, what does that mean? I know what socks proxies, etc are.

hi scrapebox iis a software and people are using proxies to post with that software.

proxies are a necessity for SB so you dont get slapped by search engines for too many requests in a short period of time. i highly recommend getting paid proxies for the best in performance. blasting my money site with 60k harvested blog urls. we will see what happens...

Most commonly it means they were tested with scrapebox itself and not with other tools like AA or Charon.

to answer what is scrape box proxie - you have to answer what is scrape box
its a tool that

1) you create big lists of blogs or other types of CMS sites using footprints.
2) you can automatically comment on those lists of blogs (with your link)
3) you can mass PING url's
4) you can submit mass trackbacks
5) theres alot more but you get the idea

proxies used for scrape box are anonymous proxies
used mostly for posting comments
public proxies in scrape box are used for url harvesting
why?

You might ask yourself why you shouldnt use a private proxy list for harvesting URLS
Just do a little test and take 100000 keywords, use 3 proxies and start harvesting.
After a while SB will come to a grinding halt. Google blocked your proxies...
Eventually they will clear again but all this time you can't continue with your project.
So for massive harvesting with large keyword lists you will need hundreds of public proxies.
Unless of course you rich and can afford lots of private proxies and dont
mind the 2/3 hr google bans everyday.

Ok, thanks. Yeah, I've read about Scrapebox (with all its praises) a few thousand times on this forum, I just haven't gotten it yet. I get it now, they have been tested with SB.
