Aren't 95% of proxies just a server opened up by hackers hoping that people connect and use them so they can steal your passwords, info etc..?

I think proxies can also be found by scanning peoples servers for open ports.

I'm wondering about proxy safety and if its OK for me to run proxies through my main PC, I'm not going to catch some nasty shit or get my passwords stolen am I?

Sorry about the newb question but I'm a bit concerned if I should only run the proxies on a 2nd PC with a 2nd internet connection.

Proxies may be also a honeypot for catching pedos and all those sick fucks...

When you're doing extra legal activities, I'd suggest doing so from within a VM that doesn't have any of your personal crap on it.

For example, if I want to load proxies into scrapebox can I get a virus or some asshole trying to connect to my PC remotely?

public proxies or private . or a 50/50 on both
