Depends on what you do with it I guess.
But more important: Find a proxy provider that accepts scrapebox.

A professional and legal provider is very unlikely to allow scrapebox on his IPs.
(seo-proxies.com does not allow it)

You don't need many for comment posting, I have 10 from yourprivateproxy.
I don't think you can buy enough for scraping though. I use proxy harvester built in scrapebox and usually good for a day long scraping

I consistently have about 20%-25% success rate with BE. I don't know rate for WP as it takes time to get approved, but I'm see quite a few WP comments over time.

I'm not an expert by my understanding that some proxy have recognizable footprint on HTTP or TCP level. If you access http://whatismyip.com you can see something like "proxy suspected" and using these proxies raising spam alert.

With good proxy you should be fine. I'm not on extreme side though as I don't post millions of comments. Some aggressive poster might have different story

I just refresh the proxy list each morning I use Scrapebox. I do this every time and end up with about 2-300 proxies.

like pk_69 said they seem to be good for a morning/day of scraping and commenting. I tend to scrape and PR check and then use manual commenter for posting comments to the higher PR urls I just scraped as I can make the comment tailored to the page and then have more chance of approval.

alot of people also use the proxies i provide for scrape box
but there not private there public and there used for harvesting.
i harvest aprox 30k proxies a day from 999 urls. filter/test/post/
i tend to get up 1000 proxies a day with an average working ratio
for most people of 35/40% but im only doing this for 100 people
