    Default Widevpn???

    Anyone else uses this service?

I never heard about this before and it seems like a good service some guy mentioned it here. So i decided to sign up and after getting 3 really weird emails i got a little bit suspicious so i decided to google the company and search it via this forum. Turns out the guy that suggested widevpn on BHW suggested it in many threads ._. so then my google search continued and there was no one talking about the company only this guy spamming several forums so then i look on the site and he just lists all the IP's the vpn software uses (great for when trying to post ads on CL -_- ) then i email him again and ask him about this and he says:

we only list some sample ip on the sites
In fact when order will send you full ip list , we also update ip list frequently
Don't worry ,You can choose more ip list
So i check if the IP's he send me also are displayed on the website and they were displayed on the website so there goes my plan to use it for craigslist. And also i tried connecting to every IP address he send me but i get an time-out every time.. on Windowsxp/vista/mac osx.

So what do i do now? just count my losses or can i claim my money back via paypal because it seems like this is one big scam. Also the site widevpn.com looks nice but then you look more closely you see that the adverts on the site are made in paint while the layout is way more professional

    Great

In one of his 'guides' he mentions something about a shared secret when youre setting up a VPN on mac so i asked him about that and i get this back

HI, the account only use to connect the VPN
    please check the sites www.widevpn.com
    how to setup vpn
    Great.
then i tell him that this is clearly not working out and that i want my money back and i get this

HI, I try it works ok.
    have you set up right?
This got me thinking so i googled a sentence from his guide and i found that he just steals them from other sites.

I'm so annoyed with myself right now for not doing proper research.

Better that you find out the guy is a scam now, rather than later when you're sending traffic and passwords over his network. Just do a paypal reversal. I don't trust many of these VPN providers and I try to use encryption ontop of the vpn, which pretty much defeats the whole purpose of using a vpn in the first place.

He refunded me just now when i asked him to refund me.
It's nice that he refunded me but its very shady all of it.. the site is just stolen, everything on it is stolen or made with MS paint. Some guides don't even apply to his service.

And like snarky said, i'm glad indeed that he didnt take my passwords etc. (to be very honest i didnt even think of that)

Ha, i was just to buy a monthly subscription, cuz of a post i seen on here recommending it. Glad i did a forum search, before i acted. Thanks for the thread. Oh ya I also wanna add, i had asked for the 1 hour trial, and he kept giving me trail accounts that weren't working. Kept emailing him, saying the account you gave me didn't work. Did this like 4 times, and gave up. That should have told me already that something was shady, lmfao.

I know this is my first post on this forum, but I just wanted to add something to this discussion.

I'm actually using this service right now, and my only problem with it is some IPs outright don't work or are really slow and I mean really slow, like 35.5 kb/s slow, if you ask me that's slow even for a VPN. Another problem is the support give some canned responses like when I brought up some of the IPs weren't working he just threw my a whole new list with some broken english, now the new IPs worked really well, but the way he worded it was just "here is new IP list we update IP list frequently".

Anyway for the price I think it's a rather good deal, I say if you need a cheap VPN you should give it a try but I can say that other VPNs are better, but for $10, it's pretty good. Be sure to give all the IPs a try though, like I said alot of them are broken.

Should have checked here first, this guy sent me five IP's for trial, three worked out of the five so I went for it. Took 24 hrs to hear back from him after payment, he didn't send 100 Ip's, he sent one, that didn't work.

Got the same response in broken English "work for here" "send me screenshot"
    then nothing ?

Tried many of the IP's posted here but no luck, probably got screwed out of $10.00, you take your chances with this one, probably not worth the aggravation unless your really hard up to save money

    Hi Folks

I guess 410 was too good to be true. Signed up 2 days ago and could not get access with 6 ip addresses. emailed 4 time and nothing yet. As it seems to be single guy I will wait another few days before going back to paypal.

the domain owner is manfred galbert - France. Will keep you posted is anything good come from it.
