What makes SPL different from other services?

This is cool and all, but your registration page doesn't have any way of actually registering from what I can see right now. I click on the "register" menu option and it takes me to a page that describes your service, what I'd get, and how much it'd cost. It talks about the $2 trial for 6 days, but there's no way to actually register there that I can see.

I've added a ScrapeBox and Akismet filter. About 1/5 of all non-transparent proxies pass both of the tests. (I have 100 as of writing)

@tami6699: Allow me to partly answer your question. I currently have 192 proxies that I was able to successfully query Google with within that last 15 minutes (average). I say partly because I do not know how many of these will work for you.

You could also search proxies by using the ScrapeBox and Akismet filters. You will get fewer proxies (84 as of writing), but they aren't on popular honeypots. So, I assume they are used less frequently for Google as well.

Also, as promised, I've added a ScrapeBox SOCKS proxy toggle (An "S" will be added to the beginning all SOCKS proxies when activated). Previously, this was only done if you searched for SB proxies. It was added because SB proxies can be used for other programs.

I've added another public tool: a duplicate line remover. It works for proxies as well as other data.

"Potential Akismet proxies" are proxies that potentially work with Akismet.

Originally, I was testing this by sending "posts" to Akismet. However, this was very unreliable as Akismet also required me to send other data. So, I'm using a honeypot that specializes in forum spam. A little less than half of the proxies pass the "Akismet test". As comment spam is more popular than forum spam, I suggest enabling the ScrapeBox filter when looking for Akismet proxies. This translates to better quality proxies (only 1/6 pass both of these tests). Generally speaking, these are new (or unpopular) proxies.

Data other than IPs play a more important role in Akismet's blocking. However, some IPs are hardblocked. The Akismet proxies I give you should be used in conjunction with clever commenting techniques. Linking to the same URL over and over is not a good idea.

Titles, user agents, keywords, post lengths, and referrers should all be changed frequently. I suggest alternating through multiple projects when blasting (i.e. finish a project over time).

That statistics page took me longer to put together than the authentication system. Thanks for noticing!

Are you asking about the system itself, or the test method? Firstly, the entire system is custom-coded. I have a forking php script that has 50 children that do the checking. cURL is used for the actual query. Proxies connect to my webserver. The page they request gives some proxy info.

I'm not currently offering an email-based subscription. I don't think that it would be used that often... A list is old the moment it arrives.

what is the average number of total & new proxies added to the site each daY?

alancss: Unfortunately, I do not keep track of the number of proxies added/deleted everyday. However, I can say that 5,555 unique proxies were added yesterday. Of these, 403 have been online at least once (up to this moment). Out of the 403, 67 are now online.

47 proxies are online out of the 3,561 proxies that have been added today (11:28 UTC). Fresh proxies such as these are usually SOCKS and anonymous HTTP. Transparent proxies stay alive much longer than the other types.

darroyo: I pretty sure that almost all of these proxies won't work with Craigslist.

Question: Is there a "raw txt file" format I can download ? (instead of copying each proxy one by one)

When you click "Download This List", you'll get a dump of the proxies you've searched for. If you want to save this to a file, you can select all and paste.

I decided this would be easier than having members download multiple files (The files can be easily mixed up). Good or bad idea?

Upon initial review, I'm sad to say I'm disappointed.

Here I thought when I clicked "Download List", I would get some type of CSV with all of the information listed within the search:

IE: IP Address Port Type SSL Country/State Last Check Latency Reliability

The ONLY things you get are IP:Port .

The reason why I purchased SPL was because I was under the impression that I would be able to choose the "100% Uptime" proxies from the list. I was sadly mistaken

Will this feature be added soon to SPL? Am I missing something?

My problems have been heard, and INSTANTLY fixed! Petrel did a great job in adding a feature I REALLY needed.
I've never had someone take to heart someone's suggestion so quickly, and impliment it the same day.

SPL Is a great membership, and I can see myself using it for a long time.

Healey: Thanks for making a suggestion. Originally, I didn't want to include a reliability filter for aesthetic reasons. I have added a reliability filter to the search page. Please let me know of any bugs.

Also, it should be noted that 100% proxies are usually 100% because they have been newly added. I want to reiterate that these are public proxies; they do not have the stability or the reliability of private ones.

You mention wanting to download a CSV file. I assume this is no longer necessary?

downloadfreak: I don't know what sort of problem you have. I'd suggest opening a thread in the main "Proxy" section. Make sure you write what program you are using and what you want to do with the proxies.

When I download a list that's all I want is IP:Port.

I don't want to see all the other data. I just saw that when I selected which proxies list to download.
