Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
I'm seeing exact match domains go from front page to absolutely nowhere. Anyone else seeing it?
Apparently Google is targeting "low quality exact match domains" which will impact .6% of the search queries.

Just another way for Google to produce more clouds to coverup their intention of pushing organic listings right out of the serps.

Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
I had a site that went from 1 to 9 .
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
I've actually seen quite a few of my Emd's go up. But maybe it isn't finished rolling through yet.
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
I haven't really checked all that much yet, the few I did check are ranking well still..
For those negatively affected, what commonality are you seeing?

Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
my website has been removed from google idk why
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
If you want to sell cars, just get a domain name with the words trucks in it. lol This should be some interesting stuff once the dust settles and the serps get even more fucked up with nonsense shit. I'm already seeing more instances of domain crowding in some niches...
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
From 5th to nowhere. Other site hasn't been affected (yet)...
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Hopefully if the sites content is solid it won't be affected, mine are all still in place for the time being anyways.
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Im going to give it a few day and see what happen
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
No changes for any sites im working on
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
They'd already wiped out most of my EMDs, this time they got most of the rest.
But my most important site, which isn't close to an EMD, is getting ass-raped at the moment. Hope this is just a dance.
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
No, all i'm seeing are my sites going up as the EMD's get removed ;)
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
0.6% my ass. Google always downplays the actual numbers.
I got hit hard. Most of my websites that were on the front page for years, survived all the lame updates and are now gone.
This is exactly why I don't give a shit about Google and target Bing. Google is going to self-destruct.
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Yes.. It's my time to shine!!
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Most of my EMD are gone with the update.
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
In his tweet he refers to "low quality" EMDs, many of you guys will probably have to build out ur emds a little more if you want to stay in the game for the long term. Perhaps go with 10-15 articles per emd?

Need someone to verify this. My EMD sites that got hit are 1-5 posts.

so 1-15 all got hit ... it is not number or articles/posts.
How about anyone with age EMD?
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
My 10+ aged domain got hit as well it use to rank easily but not nomore
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
2 sites in same niche I sold off last year that are EMD got pushed off to nomands land or gone totally!
One site is over 9 yrs..maybe 10 years old..generated about $170 in adsense a month for years.. the site is old html and ugly ass but I've never seen it GONE from the serps.
The domain was keyword1-keyword2-keyword3.com but was an exact phrase that got lots of traffic.
Most of my new sites are not EMD but I keep eye on sites I sold off.
Interesting to see how things settle.

Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Thanks for verifying
EMD that got hit includes:
- 0-10 Age
- 1-15 posts
My PR 0-1 EMD got hit
How about with PR 2 and above? Any one to verify?

Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
My domains didn't get hit (yet). I hope they will survive. :1:

Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Google is going after the pay per click search method they stole from a patent that was eventually bought by yahoo. That model was to put all paid ads first in order or the highest bid then if there was room show some crappy results from around the web.
As soon as they went down that road I quit seo. Auto complete has killed most long tails and now just steers users to whatever google thinks they can make the most from. Half the time even when you force a search they give you the results they want to give you and you have to force them again to show you what you actually searched for and still get the same results.
Get away. They are just playing with you. You can bet cunts and sergio are blowing each other and laughing their asses off reading threads on forums like these.
But yeah anyway, no harm here as I gave up on google a long time ago.

Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Just need someone to verify/confirm:
- Shared Hosting/IP (All my EMD are same IP/ shared host)
- Number of indexed links (from observation: domain with 500 and above indexed still remain)
- PR (PR 0-1 got hit)

You are probably right, the search results are not as accurate as they used to be.

Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
It is funny my first niche's highest searched keywords are all top position EMD's including my own.
First niche is a 2 word EMD
My second niche is like 50/50 but my EMD has been dancing a lot (page 1 to nowhere to page 5 then to page 3).
Second Niche is a 3 word EMD

Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Ugh Matt Cutts again the baby eating small business killing bastard. I put him up there with Pol Pot and Hitler. Why are these 'engineers' allowed to run amok at Google?
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Wow this is messed up. After further looking into what is really going on. Even though I got hit, it is kind of amusing, how absurd it is.
I have a few high authority websites with author mark up that got it, and it is not an emd, it's a business brand, like seomoz. You think seomoz got hit? No way, they are immune to any update and/or nonsense.
The funniest part is when I search my "real" name, my website doesn't show up. That's like searching for Matt Cutts and his blog isn't there. How stupid is that.
Great user experience Google.

Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Yep virtually all my emds are nowhere to be found at the moment including my blogspot subdomain emds.
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Wow, this looks very bad for many... hopefully everyone will find some way to get the sites ranking again.. :p
My sites don't seem to have taken that big of a hit, if at all - though they probably wouldn't be considered especially low quality since each has at least 30 articles..
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Maybe it is this because it was granted in Oct last year: http://www.seobythesea.com/2011/10/g...rcial-queries/
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
ALL my websites went up. And they're all EMD.
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Nope. Still on page #1. #4-5 for keyword. If anything I've moved way up.. Was on page #2 a month ago, rankings still strong. Site only has 10 short articles on it 100% original..
-
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Their Exact Match Domains Disappear in Google?
Mine moved up from 3-1. But I have been building links but definitely no penalty, but its an authority site with good content.

Their algo only looks at what is most profitable. Then they make sure to monitor everyone so they can rob your earnings when you do make something following their rules. Google(-) That's my mission...I hereby copyright google minus.
