this really is the wrong place for ppc amazon i guess, but what are you doing? are you using a landing page or amazon.com as your display url? cuz amazon is big and i'm sure there's another affiliate doing the same thing but using amazon.com as a display url, so yours wouldn't display(as per 1 domain adwords rules).

I use amazon.com as my display url, I try to bid high so my ad can show, but it cost me alot more than I get from Amazon if I get the sale. Do u have suggest Lanx? How to do effective ppc especially with Amazon. I know more profitable if I sell digital product like Click Bank's product, but my country isn't in the list and I don't know alot about making website, SEO, so I do ppc with direct link! Is anyone here have good suggest for me, I really need to get some money for my wife's medical cost.

Haha, your wife's medical costs? Don't you think wasting your money on ppc without having a CLUE! is a good idea? (I am not pissed because you're a newb but because you're trying to bullshit us, or are indeed an idiot for doing that)

Tricky trick to ppc is: test, adjust, retest, repeat till you hit profit.
If you set up your campaign alright and show sth like -30% profit, then continue, if you are out of a 100% profit then just dump the campaign and try sth different.

Get markets where people want to buy stuff not where people are interested in free stuff.

Get markets where people want to buy expensive stuff(Cameras, Eletronics) cause amazon comission sucks.

Get a redirect for your amazon products cause direct links look ugly

Find sth that's hot right now (seen on the news or whatever) and just recently got lots of search volume, (for instant a CNN report on the new Hair removal thingy) go, find some keywords, shoot up a a campaign with a few hundred keywords connected to the main one

you will get cheap clicks cause no established publishers are advertising on thoose keywords and voila you at least got cheap clicks

If you're really interested in ppc, go and read up on it. Else I suggest not waisting your wife's lung with this.

thx for your suggest multicolor, but actually I'm not try to bull shit u guys about my wife's medical cost, because the truth I need "extra" money for my wife's medical cost ( It doesn't mean I don't have any money, but need extra money for extra cost). I learn ppc about 2 months from reading ebook that I get from this forum, but I just practice what I learn just 2 days ago, so I consider myself as totally a beginner. I already do research with adword keyword external, and try to sell bestseller stuff at amazon. I do direct link cause I'm not really understand about making website, hosting and do seo thing. So I need advice for doing better ppc here, especially to sell physical product !

adwords is not a forgiving medium, anyone who says you can get into adwords right away making money after reading adwords for beginniners, intermediate or advanced with super secret technicques either have super unique experiences or are just flat out lying.

white hat adwords is difficult, i'm sure no one will even dare say adwords is easy find 10c keyword copy ad and have money roll in, and try to back that up.

if your going to do white hat adwords, there really is no advice other than to know the adwords system, then know how to optimize it, then after that, a whole new section on seeing what convert and what doesn't and then finding the right "thing" to advertise.

you can make just as much money sending traffic to a website that has no physical products whatsoever, just as you can send ppl to a specific blue purple i*pod or something.

really imo adwords is trial by fire and trial by error, the more money you loose the better you'll get cuz you'll either try your damn hardest to make it work or just give up. i would actually suggest(if you really want to get into adwords) read more and keep on optimizing.

Thx for your explaination Lanx. I really appreciate it. I know I have to learn from trial and error when doing adword, I don't mind about that. I asking you guys because I think you got more experience and already making money with adword, so it speed up my learning process, better than just read an ebook right?

I'm just not sure that I'm doing the right thing when setting up my campaign, thing like :
1. delivery method standard or accelerated is better? (when I should pick that choice)

2. Ad scheduling, should I turn on this (what time I should turn on it, consider that I sell in US market)

3. Position preference, should I turn on this too? (when and in what condition?)

4. How much % budget to set up without having risk losing much money (according to commission that I will get from sale )

5. How many days should I run the campaign until I can make decision to continue or just delete that campaign -> I know this involve campaign's history and ad position, but I need suggest here : Am I have to lose first to get good ad position and after that gradually lowering my bid and get profit later, or just deleted that campaign if cost me more than I get?
how many days this process as a common guide.

I hope U can help me with this matter Lanx, cause I think U have more experience than I do and already making money with adword so I asking U and anybody in this forum who can help me as a noob. Thx Lanx!

1. depends on your daily budget, can you afford the massive amount of clicks you "might" get or are you on a real budget, as in i can only spend 5$ a day on this campaign, choose accordingly.
2. depends on what your adwording to i.e.(and this will not work) if your doing an ad for last minute superbowl betting, maybe you don't want to set your ad past midnight cuz, well it wouldn't make sense.
3. new feature, doesn't seem to help and goes against CTR mantra, try it out
4. up to you, there is never a hard rule ever, tread lightly
5. again no hard rule

4/5 ppl make a "rule of thumb" i believe there is no rule of thumb for these 2 instances, but i take a long hard approach at adwords, ppl say it's not possible to build long standing campaigns in adwords and just shoot for the quick sale and jet method, it's really up to you.

but really if your really intent on doing adwords, a member forum dedicated to adwords is where you should be looking at, i'm not shoo'in you away, it's just your best bet to grasp adwords with hundreds of ppl willing and able to answer your questions.

Hi

Things to consider.

Amazon has only 24h cookie, so personally I would stay away from Amazon specially if I am paying for the clicks.

Everything Lanx have said is true and I would follow his advice.

Things to consider are:

1 keyword / ad group
I usually skip the broad match totally and only use Phrase match and Exact match.

Keyword research is very important for adwords campaigns.

When I run an adwords campaign I research the keywords, I research the competition on this different keywords, check the search amount / month and go from there.

I do make rule for my self that a new campaign need to sell atleast in 50 clicks.

Sometimes I let it go to 100 clicks but it would be something I really believe in very much to let it go that much.

The click cost I decide on my 1 in 50 sale, so if I make $100 / sale I will divide 100 / 50 and that gives me a $2 / click
Its just a rule of thumb that I have made up for my self to make it some what easier to decide on the click price.

Keywords that I use long tale or short tale will have to fit either in the title of the Adword ad or the second line of it.

and if it fits in both places I make 2 diffrent versions and split test the ad.

Landing page.

I setup an wordpress blog with all my different landing pages under one blog.
This makes the page also SE ready and it will show up as a page with many diffrent articles on.

I use plugin named exec-php so that I can execute php code inside of the wordpress articles.

This way I control the words on the landing page.

I use this php code instead of the keyword that I am trying to target.
<?php echo str_replace('-', ' ', $_GET['keyword'])?>

Then on each adgroup I add a separate structure to the landing page url.

Example:

So for example if the ad group is targeting "Google Adwords" as its keyword
I will write my landing page url like this:

This url will add my keyword to the landing page.
I try to hit 5% of my landing page with this keyword so that the page will be optimized for this keyword.

Well I think I said everything I do.

But if I missed something or you come to think about something that you would like to know, please ask and I will try to answer.

Best regards
Kandor

Wow. Amazon + Adwords as your first affiliate campaign. I think I'd rather take a nice warm bath in a tub full of scissors and Tabasco sauce.

I'd advise you to use what you do have to the maximum effect. I get the sense that English isn't your first language. Try focusing on markets that use your primary language, and products that are popular in your area. Your ads will be received better if they're understood completely. This can actually be an advantage over your competition. You may be the ONLY person even trying to sell in your country; you may have the entire country as a "niche" all to yourself for some products.

Pay particular attention to the content network. Advertising very selectively in forums that are geared towards or presented in your native language could be a goldmine; be careful though. Content is even less forgiving than search.

General tips for noobies to PPC.

Start with a preset, predeposited amount in your Adwords account. Don't just link it to a credit card with a high limit. It's very easy to dump hundreds or thousands of dollars that you didn't mean to spend by missing a tiny detail like turning off the content network until you're ready to use it.

Better yet, find vouchers and use Google's money to experiment with. There are a couple of resources here that can guide you in the right direction.

Start small and tight. Find 20-30 (no more than a few hundred) keywords that you think will convert and test them out on exact match with high bids. This will do two things: it will help your CTR which ages your campaign favorably (remember Google wants to see what happens during your first two weeks or so of a new campaign before they really settle on a score for you), and it prevents you from accidentally blowing your budget by bidding on a bazillion keywords and not realizing that you
- left in a bunch of shit you should have hit with a negative match (free, trial, scam)
- accidentally broad matched because you were tired or in a hurry
- wrote a really catchy ad that gets a shitload of curiosity clicks that will never convert
etc
etc

that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Be careful and good luck with it.

Firstly, direct arbitrage, such as putting up an ad for amazon and then posting your referral ID as the destination URL is against Adwords TOS and will get your account banned. Secondly, amazon cookies only last a day so it would be a waste of money. At least I imagine so, maybe if you were very clever about your keywords and targeted high priced items it would work.

At the very least you need a landing page which then contains the link to the related products. (or put in the links and CS at the same time).

3rd. If you are just starting out with arbitrage you are playing with fire. Start out with 5$ a day campaigns until you understand how adwords works.
