I'm a PPV newb. What exactly is it? Is it related to CPA at all?

The definition of PPV is "Pay Per View". While it seems relatively popular in the black hat marketing circles but it's legal.

But its available only TV for channel. Means PPV is Pay Per View.
Wrong. PPV is offered online as well. It's also not just ordering a tv or something along those lines. You could get paid per view of a website or a video.

Pay-per-view (PPV) provides a service by which a television audience can purchase events to view via private telecast.

PPV in terms of CPA is called adware.
It is also called CPV or Cost per View... which it the more correct term.

Some idiot named it PPV and it caught on.

People install things like tool bars and those toolbars spawn popups according to the sites the visitors go to.
The tool bars are installed with full consent of the user.

It is not a virus or anything like that.

It is called Pay Per View because they CHARGE you per every popup.

People get this confused with CPM... they think PPV pays them.

It is the other way around.... you pay PPV networks to popup your ads... mostly CPA offers.

hope that helps

That was a very good explanation. Yeah, that got me confused between CPM and PPV.
