my epic PPV journal thread thingy...
Ok, so I've been debating if I should do this or not for weeks, and I've decided to do it. I'm just getting into media buying utilizing PPV specifically, and I am going to document my day to day activities on this post. I'll include the good, bad and ugly.
I've decided that come hell or high water, I will become an expert affiliate marketer and media buyer. I'm going to focus on one niche to start (biz opp) and mostly two traffic sources. Email and PPV.
I've got my own server set up for email, and I've got approx 1.5 million biz opp seeker emails. I signed up for Lead Impact (PPV) and I'm an affiliate with the biz opp network, maxbounty and copeac right now, and that's where I'll pull my offers.
My ultimate goal is to achieve $1000 in PROFIT per day. I have commited to myself that I will do SOMETHING every single day, except sundays, to work towards that end.
My reasons for doing this thread are as follows:
1) to hold myself accountable and make sure I get shit done each day
2) because I work from home, I miss out on the 'water cooler' aspect of a traditional job. This will allow you and I to basically converse around this topic and both learn and grow.
3) to help anyone else who is starting down this road. Maybe you are in this same boat, and need some guidance. Hopefully, thru my successes and failures you can learn and apply the good, and avoid the bad.
So, here I go. This was my task for today. To get this thread started. Mission accomplished
Tomorrow, the real work starts. ttyl

Re: my epic PPV journal thread thingy...
Cool, looking forward to updates. I'm making my own product right now and after I've got the sales letter and what not I'm thinking about getting into PPV to promote it. What I want to do is build up a huge opt in list by giving away a small ebook or something (related to my niche) , and then selling to the e-mail list.
What do you plan on doing exactly with the PPV? Build a list, promote something directly, etc?
Also please let us know how the traffic levels are on lead impact. If it provides good levels I may consider going for lead impact rather than traffic vance, as they require a 1k deposit (minimum) and probably a referral.
Thanks man

Re: my epic PPV journal thread thingy...
Ok, got a lot done today. I've got 5 campaigns running on lead impact. three of them are biz opp related. One is credit repair and the other is my own product in the real estate niche.
Set the limits to $10 per day on each, so I'm not exceeding $50/day. Each day I pause the campaigns while I look over the data from the previous 24 hours and make adjustments. I used micro niche finder to help me build out my keyword lists today, and I also removed keywords that were getting a lot of hits, but NO conversions. I also adjusted my bids so I will get more traffic from some of the higher converting keywords. I'm paying between 2-6 cents per view.
got probably 300+ views for the biz opp stuff yesterday. no conversions yet, but that's because the keywords were not the right mix. Testing new landing pages as well.
I'll review the performance tomorrow and then will have more data to make adjustments. I'm going to add more offers as well. I plan to keep my daily budget to around 50-75 dollars per day while I tweak/adjust.
I'm running a full time real estate niche business as well, so I've only got about 3 hours a day to devote to this, but my philosophy is that with consistent effort over time, I'll get to my goal of $1000 in daily profit, as long as I consistently put in the time.
I also started ppc123 classes as well, to keep adding to my knowledgebase as I go along. Oh, and I found a URL harvester that I'm going to try tomorrow. It's called 'laser URL' and it's free. We'll see how it goes.

Re: my epic PPV journal thread thingy...
Good stuff blue. As for your journey, are you going to keep on opening up new offers the way you have the first few days, or are you going focus on the few you have started with so far first so you can optimize as much as possible and learn from your mistakes on those, then start trying out others?

Chances are he is busy with his day to day real estate work as well as this... i'd rather see updates once a week with specific details and numbers than meaningless updates every hour

Re: my epic PPV journal thread thingy...
Im back...sorry for the delay...been busy as hell testing/tweaking. Ok, I've sent about 12000 impressions to my main offer now, and have been able to test different landing pages. it's an email submit, but the conversions have been very low...less than 2%
So, I'm going to continue tweaking, and also test a new network. I'm trying out ezanga. It's a 350 deposit, but I actually have a manager assigned to me that I was able to speak to and IM on aim. One thing I dont like about leadimpact is the lack of ability to get feedback from them on how to improve your offer. It's basically non-existant.
I'll keep my budget running over at lead impact at about $20 per day, and I'll start with $30 per day with this new network. One thing I also like about them is that they do not get their PPV traffic from adware. It's from publishers directly. Different websites sign up to to be a part of their network...and from what he said they generate all thier own impressions within their network of publishers...they dont broker...
Anyway, only time will tell. the AM is motivated to optimize my offer because I actually own the offer, and he wants to scale it if we can get the ROI right. I'll keep you posted.
Anyone have experience with ezanga?

Re: my epic PPV journal thread thingy...
Took some time to call up and talk with some AM's. I'm learning that PPV converts well for some offers, and completely bombs on others. I'm going to be refining my offers to remove what's not working..

Re: my epic PPV journal thread thingy...
Hey man, I don't know much about ezanga but have you thought of joining Trafficvance? It's a $1000 minimum deposit though. They're suppose to have the best and most traffic. I just signed up yesterday, stepping up from Lead Impact.
I'd stick with Lead Impact if TV is too much. Work on rotating offers and landing pages.

All the PPV networks have different ways they get traffic, and that impacts how and what offers will work. TV I believe is the only network that actually generates it's own traffic through it's gaming apps. So you have to consider the audience they have. Others however are generally done through alligators and content networks. So the quality between them varies, as does the ability to convert certain offers.
Using any network, it's a good idea to do your best to find out how they get their traffic and where. Then based on the demographics you gain from that, try to use offers to match.
Only Those That Risk Going To Far Find Out How Far They Can Go.
