After reading this great guide I now have an understanding of how PPV works.
BTW if you haven't see the thread its here:
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackha...v-traffic.html
I have already dipped my toes into CPM which is paying a few cents per 1000 views of my banner, this is being advertised on highly trafficked websites of my choosing. But with the network i am with they only have 3-4 sites, unlike PPV.
So im not too scared to have a go at PPV/CPA seeing as it actually looks pretty simple and easy with high return, if you set it up correctly and follow "The PPV Playbook" and other resources.
Ive only read the PDF so far, not the videos as of yet. But there's one thing he failed to talk about and i think it should be asked and talked about for PPV noobs like myself.
From what i understood from the guide is that PPV advertising is serving your banner ads, pop ups, text ads to people who have installed a program that provides them screen savers or videos, games, whatever, in return for seeing ads.
So what i can do is go and grab a bunch of URLs from lots of different sources and URLs that i think my targeted market are likely to visit. Then when these people visit the site AND HAVE THE AWARE INSTALLED my ad will be displayed.
So that's all very well and good. But what the hell is the likely hood that someone from my chosen URL has the aware installed from my specific PPV network!?
1) How do we find these stats out, and seriously what are the chances! lol Obviously they are good, i think, otherwise this wouldn't be such a huge thing. But i still can't wrap my head around it.
2) To me, the demographics for this type of traffic seem kinda young, maybe not past 40, because of the type of stuff you get in return for seeing ads most of the time while surfing. I could be wrong, but this says to me, that right across all PPV networks there is always going to be a limit on the types of offers we can run and be successful........ right?
