You'll need to either find advertisers or people willing to invest...if you're going the long term route.

You get paid to advertise other people's sites.
You sell banner space.
You sell F.Banner Space
You sell Guaranteed signups.

I have worked with many PTC sites but they never pay me.Only few pay.
