Amazon + Email Marketing = Ban?

Does amazon affiliates allowed to use Email marketing for amazon products?
Some people said email marketing is against amazon terms and conditions.
Could you please help me here.

As far as i know its allowed. There are plenty of amazon price drop alert sites that notify their users via email and the links in those emails usually lead directly to amazon.As long as you are not spamming you should be ok but just to be on the safe side you might want to email them as well.They usually respond within 24 hours.
