Default Need VOIP for cold calling

I have been searching Google for VOIP service and it seems there are too many to pick.

Could someone recommend me one for cold calling?

I second the Google Voice recommendation. I have a prepaid mobile phone that I load up with a $10 card and I use it to open 2 Google voice accounts. That gives me the ability to call 2 cities from a local number. each time I get a new card, i reset the SIM and start afresh.Thats $5 for each metro area you wish to call, at least till the end of 2012, LOCALLY.

If you have the Google Voice plugin for your browser installed, it is as easy as going to the Yellow Pages and just start clicking on numbers to call them.

If anyone knows of a good GV extension for Opera plz let me know, as I have yet to find one that is WAF.

nah I have a better plan. Scrape the list then load into the mojosells.com dialer. It dials up to 3 lines at once and you can use it through any phone and change the caller ID to say what you want. Also you can hit a button and it'll leave your prerecorded message on a voicemail while you're dialing the next.

I just tested Skype for free and it worked great. Sound and voice quality is up there.

My concern is that I want to get a local number. It throws customers off who have caller ID, which is everyone. Skype has no numbers for Canada.

Have you ever had any problem with dropped calls or cutting in and out?

I currently pay $150/month for 5 lines with 8x8 and sometimes see interruption or freezing of the whole system. Hopefully they can transfer numbers. I'll have to look into something cheaper as it appears I am paying way too much.

I've never stressed the system so hard but I have no issues with one on one phone calls. I get a bit of freezing with skype to skype.

    Google Voice.

You can choose the area code you want for your number and set it.

i.e.-- I live in North Carolina, US and I dial in Los Angeles, CA with a Santa Monica number.

Skype definitely. 9.99 for unlimited international calls! We've used it for cold calling.
