    Default Offline Marketing, Online?

So I'm really thinking of getting into google places. In every course that I have read/watched "your local area" was always mentioned. My uberN00b question is: If I'm from Europe can I work for someone in the US, helping them get top ranking on Places etc? It's weird thinking about how the courses always mention "businesses in your area" "domain name with your area". Let's say I want to help a dentist from New Jersey or smth like that. Awaiting for your answers.

    PS: I know I'm a n00bz0r.

Of course you CAN help them. The only challenge might be making the sale, but you could still call them through the landline to make the pitch.

The thing about clients that we call "offline clients" is they are normally larger clients, they haven't found you through a google ad, they are usually someone you got by referral, networking, or some direct acquisition method (sending letters, cold calling etc). They expect you to know your stuff, and be accessible most of the time they would love to have a meeting to discuss potential and then again to review results. Perhaps you can resolve this by doing a teleconference.

So yes, you CAN do it - it will be a bit more challenging though and may change the type of client and the pricing that you are going to be working with.

Yes, you can totally do it. A lot of the "offline" systems seem to really put an emphasis on a in person meeting. This can also be done online or over the phone. If you aren't meeting a client in-person it will probably be helpful to focus on building up your online credibility.. maybe videos to help build client confidence.

It depends on how 'switched on' the client is to working with people overseas/via the internet.

If you can clinch the deal via phone or skype then you can optimise their ranking just as well as the guy down the street...it's getting their buy-in without that face-to-face that is the challenge. Human nature just trusts someone we have physically met more than someone we have virtually met.

This idea is best when you have to do a meeting and you cannot do it physically. You send your representative. You can direct him during the meeting.

You'll probably be a lot cheaper than a local firm. Don't forget to mention that. For example, why pay twice the price for the same work!
