Offline Marketing -- Should I drive a lamborghini?
I am starting a new ORM/SEO business in a major metro city. Would it be a good or bad idea to show up to all appointments in a lamborghini? Do you think it would give off the right impression? Do you think it would give me an edge over competitors?
I know it may seem like a silly question, but I really don't want potential clients to think " that guy is charging way too much if he can drive that car ".

Can you afford a Lamborghini?
If yes, keep doing what ever your doing.
If no, don't waste money use it on advertising or growth (or putting food on the table).

It's bought and paid for -- the root of the question is -- Is being flashy a bad idea when meeting prospective clients?

Re: Offline Marketing -- Should I drive a lamborghini?
Go with the Lambo. Oh yeah, drink some Russian vodka before and pull out your socks, because with a Lambo, you will rock them up their meeting.
Seriously, if you really want to drive the car, and that car is part of you, do it. Why shouldn't you use the care? You can't hide your true personality every time, be you.

Re: Offline Marketing -- Should I drive a lamborghini?
If that's what you got that's what you got! So show up in whatever. I have shown up in a nissan xterra and an old pontiac and still got the deals. I think it comes down to hour sales pitch and results at the end of the day!

Re: Offline Marketing -- Should I drive a lamborghini?
It depends what you are selling.
If you are selling high priced homes... yes.. drive that bitch and rev it before you get out of the car. and wear a $1000 suit.
If you are selling SEO stuff.... no... a more conservative car would be better.

This is the info I'm looking for, thanks. I'm not a salesman by trade but I've done pretty well at it in other industries.

It would be funny as shit if he would go to a meeting for some SEO deals, with an old Dodge, and the other guy would come in a Lambo, haha

Re: Offline Marketing -- Should I drive a lamborghini?
Any one that shows up meet me in such a way will not even get to see me. Anyone that did that is either stupid, or a pretentious snob that I do not want to work with, or lives in a world that will never understand my needs as a small businessman because they obviously live in the upper social strata. They throw thousand's around like I do 20's.
Either way I would not hire either of these individuals.
Unless that is you are targeting that social strata, you will look like a fool.

Re: Offline Marketing -- Should I drive a lamborghini?
I would think you are being a dick and clearly over charge me.
On the other hand, if you are selling a get richer sceme or some $20,000 seminar / coaching system that is another story.

Re: Offline Marketing -- Should I drive a lamborghini?
Salesmen have salesmen cars for a reason, go get a Mercs E class, or a BMW 3 series

How did you get the Lambo if I might ask? I'm surprised that Im the first to ask.

Re: Offline Marketing -- Should I drive a lamborghini?
Take the Lambo and make sure you know your shit.
Never say:
1: I dont know
2: We can try that
3: Thats going to be a lot of work
Leave them knowing you dont need to charge the most because your that good and what is hard to others is easy for you and that your clients are so happy with your work that they only come to you..

But then again I SUCK at sales so this may be a very bad idea.

What model/year is it? Not every Lamborghini is created equal. They started out as a tractor company and made shit unreliable cars until about 10 years ago.

Great thread!
It was asked earlier - how did you come by such a nice ride?
Me - I drive an Escalade because I have a family, dog, cat that hates me, and all that kind of stuff. But, the Escalade gets me there in style even with all of the yelling and disfunction going on inside the car!

Funny, I am reading your truly great thread on the wso for prospecting clients.
I am just a car enthusiast, and I've worked for several high profile racing companies in the past. I am a single guy so my money goes to cars instead of a family
I will try the lambo + designer clothes approach and let you know how it goes. I will launch the business in two weeks at the most.

Ahhhhh.....
The single days. I remember those. Back in the day before marriage and my son - I too was into cars!
Had a Porsche, bunch of BMW'ers, etc. Never had the Lambo. Always loved them though. Now, I got the big ass Caddy. Sign of the times, where you are at in your life and all of that.
Wouldn't trade it for anything - my family. But, I do remember those times well.
Live well, sir! Have fun, drive the fast cars, and chase whatever suits your eye! I salute you!

i would drive something respectable and nothing too outlandish or lavish or a pos either. you want to give a reasonable conservative impression.

They should neither see you arrive or leave as it imparts more to your mystery and the work that you do.

Re: Offline Marketing -- Should I drive a lamborghini?
This is one of those questions any moron with an IQ above 4 can answer. (And if you can't answer this question yourself you shouldn't be in bussiness).
What tard would go to clients in a supercar, seriously...
Sounds more like a "check me out i got a lambo post"

I think you're a little too naive.
Thanks for your opinion anyway

Re: Offline Marketing -- Should I drive a lamborghini?
I agree with others that the Lambo is too much.
I one time recommended an instructor to do some research for us. When he showed up in an ultra high end car i was embarrassed. And yeah the thought was these guys are gonna charge too much. He got the work b/c I recommended him but otherwise......not a good idea.
Keep that car for the women.
Maybe a 330 series BMW nothing more.

Re: Offline Marketing -- Should I drive a lamborghini?
I work with a lot of general contractors and when I'm getting bids on new projects I do pay attention to what they drive. The contractor that shows up in a 60K truck is the one I immediately think will charge too much.

Re: Offline Marketing -- Should I drive a lamborghini?
Save the lambo for your "make money on the Internet like me" landing page, and take the subway. You should do a cost-risk analysis before taking it out, with insurance rates, gas, and hot to ticket cops the way they are, and the likelyhood of it getting keyed or stolen, it is better of being used for hot dates and photo shoots than a drive downtown to the $13 parking lot for a $5k contract.
BTW, if they can even see you drive up from the window, then you can not charge them enough for the hassle.

No keep your car for a different time, and go with the Altima for meeting clients. The altima is a good middle class car, and the client will be able to relate to you
no
