How to rank Google Places for mutiple nearby towns?
I have my Google places in #1 for my town where my business address is. But I am a service provider and service towns within a 50 mile radius. I do not have a store for people to actually stop by to purchase something. There is about 10 other towns in this 50 mile radius that each have their own places box on search but I only show up for my town.
How can I rank my places listing for nearby towns as well? Do I need to add the other towns names in my places description? Build links to my sites website with other towns names/zip code as anchors? Post my own positive reviews to my service using other towns for keywords?
Need help as most of my jobs come from the other nearby towns and not the one where my business address is physically located.

do off page seo with those town names + keyword as the anchor text for your backlinks. if there are not any strong listings taking up the first page for those towns you will show up for them sooner or later. in other words if the competition is not strong you will show up. i have done this time and time again with great success. i show up in cities a significant distant away now.

You mean build backlinks to my website right? Or is there a special places link to start building backlinks to?
Oddly I have been building other town+services link to my site and my site ranks organically for normal search on the first page for other towns. But still does not show up in the places listings. Organically only ranks #10 so a places listing would greatly improve my business visibility.

Better get some blogspot blogs and try to rank them in Google palaces.. All you need is a BIG BANNER OF YOUR ORIGINAL SITE stating that you do SEO for that town with some Good discount Figures to increase the CTR.. I guess that's the easiest way. Although you can have some packages and order now page in that blogspot blog itself.
Again, you will need a Physical address in those towns. Better get a few friends from those nearby towns to help you out.
I haven't tried this so, I won't advise but you can do it as an experiment. Citation works great for Google places. So start making citation for those towns rather than your own city.

build the backlinks to your site. i have never tried backlinks to my places page. you can use a combination of the "zip code keyword" or "cityname keyword".
btw, senukex or linkpushing works great for this.
