When building companies/business's Wordpress websites - What do you do about the theme?

This is a question I've been asking myself for a while now and I'm still a bit unsure. There are loads of people on this forum claiming to sell websites to local companies and it's certainly something I'm planning on trying out.

The only question I have, what do you do about the theme for their website?

- Do you create your own unique theme for them? (Unlikely)
- Do you hire someone to create a unique theme for them?
- Do you use a premium theme? (Themefrost etc)
- Do you use a free theme? (Found on wordpress/search engines)

Just curious to what everyone else is doing

It depends on what your client expects and also if you are doing html or wordpress.

I tend to get customers to look at websites of companies in the same niche (or other websites they like), tell me which bits they like then make a composite of those (providing it doesn't look too horrendous)

To be honest a lot of new clients are already doing this before we even meet.

Have them browse until they find something they like, and then find a premium theme like from theme forest which will fit the bill, and edit it to your client's liking.

By doing things this way, you can have help from the theme's creator, just pay the $35 for the template or what ever, assuming you already charged your client atleast $350...
