Default Online/Offline Clients - 15 days to £1000 worth of Clients.

Decided to take action. Was planning to take action on the first day of this year. 12 days later and still nothing productive. The plan is to offer Wordpress sites to potential clients (Web Design) online. And to offline clients offer Places listings. I plan to charge £300 for your typical basic Wordpress site and £4 or 5 hundred for Places listings. On we go!

    Day 1 - Target :

    Create a new Facebook profile.
Head to the local Store and buy the local paper.
Do research on business ads in said paper and check wether their a potential Places client.

Love to see the ongoing results but don't get discouraged.

I lost a nice contract recently. They called to say that they wanted me to transfer to them the domain I purchased for them and that they had a family member that was going to design their website so they would not be needing my services.

After I hung up the phone I noted the date and time and can't wait to see the "family member" design.

Of course I won't know for sure until I see what the FM comes up with (if anything), I wonder if/when they will be calling me back as I suspect their PR0, SEO barren site will be nothing more than a poorly designed page of disorganized and useless content that will produce absolutely nothing for the company.

My point is that many business owners have no clue as to the value that a professionally designed site (among other things) can do for their business.

The lesson I learned is to forget about business that are clueless and focus on the ones that have some idea of what they want and ideas about how they can grow their business.

In this economy, businesses that think that cutting corners on marketing and advertising is going to boost the bottom line are doomed. I refuse to continue to try and help them. They are a waste of time.

On the positive side, I have decided to stock up on "Going Out of Business" signs considering the way many businesses I approach think along the same lines as the example above, the market for them will be booming!
