I just signed up a dental client for my rent-a-site. He asked me about his GPlaces, as it is not on the first page.

I would like to help him out, and possibly ask for a once-off payment or a monthly (if you have ideas on this - let me know).

My rent-a-site is the best SEO'd in the area for the dental industry. If I get his GPlaces, verify it - optimise it - and add my site - will this boost his GPlaces?

Can my site be removed should he wish to leave us and my service?

The only thing I wouldn't do is add YOUR site to his GPlaces. You risk losing your organic SERP as your site will appear on GPlaces only (it happened to me one time).

If I were you, I would try to get a monthly recurring payment added on top of his current one.

Ya dont use your rental site use his site or up him into one. Charge a one time set up for GP then a monthly maint fee. Citations will move up the places position along with reviews and a handfull of backlinks.

create a secondary domain that redirects.. that way you dont lose your serp. and just build Citations to the secondary domain.

I like the idea of a secondary domain that just redirects to the main money site. This sounds good.

However, isn't the idea behind adding a well SEO'd website to the places to make the places listing rise? If we add a brand new domain, won't that then negate the whole idea of adding the website in the first place? As the website would be brand new and thus provide no boost?

Or am I looking at it the wrong way here.

Also I have heard that you can add an internal page to the places listing of your website, not just the root domain URL. Apparently that can get you out of the mess of losing the serp. Anyone heard of this before?

If you rent out your site to your dentist friend and then create a gplaces for him to that website- what happens if he wants to walk- you stuck with a linked g-places and rental site- Seperate Seperate Seperate- more money for you- you can create him a emd site for the gplace site and maintain ownership so if he walks you rent out his secondary site but prob not his gplaces site.

As soon as you change the places listing to a new client's address or number it will drop in the serps. I'd still maintain control just so you can delist him completely if he stops paying and you find a new client, will make building up a new listing a lot easier.

Having a strong website can go a long way in ranking in GP. I don't know what you may be charging on your rent-a-site but I have local clients who pay between $400 to $500 per month to manage their GP accounts (its more if I am actually maintaining their site as well). Good Luck
