Question There once was Groupon, now there's Google Offers

I am not a complete idiot, but this seems like it will turn into something that is going to be added to the offline marketing routine. It is only available in certain areas right now, but Google offers is what? Their answer to the failed buyout of Groupon right?

There seems to be potential with it though, since it is a Google offering, and for offline businesses to create something similar to Groupon, and reports show that the very first business to sign on sold 5K real fast.

Hmm, I guess its just a thought for now, but I wonder what you guys see in this when it finally spreads across the US? (besides the next best WSO that everyone is going to buy/share).

Google is taking over the internet... Groupon should have just agreed to sell it to Google, I can see Groupon and LivingSocial slowly die down to Google Offers.

I agree - Groupon and all of the other copycats should have either sold out or they should get out of the game.

Besides, the whole Groupon thing.....from what I have heard is complete bust and really hurts local businesses that gave it a shot. Most of them have been hurt because they discount too heavily on what they offer on the Groupon and then to make it worse they are not prepared for the flood of customers and to make it even worse they have to wait for a while to get all of their cut of the money from Groupon.

But, yeah - you can bet there will be WSO after WSO touting it when it really hits.

And, the simple truth is this - if we all just focused on a few core methods in our offline or online businesses we would be better off. I am speaking to the point of not chasing the next damn shiny way of making money that comes down the WSO river.

Just my rant for today....sorry - now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I didn't know about this so I check it out right now and it's dead. Only like 5 ads for like each city. Should people jump on this instead of Groupon to do business? Or it's too early?

Well, its very young, so that means it hasn't flourished yet. But that doesn't mean that it wont. Google will put marketing into this, or they wouldn't have even started it to begin with. Expect it to grow, and expect to be able to use it for offline clients once it starts to get big.
