For some reason BHW doesn't want me to post a detailed, informative thread, so bear with me.

I have my first client meeting on Friday. What do I need to do to make sure that I really impress the client? I sent out 36 packs, and this is the only one who even visited the link to the special offer they were given. I need this client bad.

I also want to know how I can sell them on social media.

Its better you make a free offer to this client for say some days and then you can get him easily.

First off, change the mindset... you dont need the client bad, they need YOU bad. Walk in with confidence, with your homework done, your facts straight, and knock em dead. Hot chicks act like they could care less, and get all the guys wagging their tails like lost puppies at them... fat chicks act desperate and get zilch. Be the hot chick, he needs you and YOU have to decide whether you want him as a client or not. Now, on to the other things...

Do your homework. How much traffic does the site get monthly? What keywords do they already rank for organically? Do they do any PPC? (All info u can get from the freebie version of SEMrush). What's their website like? Do they properly use title tags, meta tags, etc? How well does their site grade against the Top 18 ranking factors? (see SEO Master Certification)

What keywords are they not ranking for that they should? What is traffic look like for those unclaimed yet highly relevant keywords? I was surprised the other day to find out that the phrase 'armoured -----' outranked the phrase 'armored -----' in monthly searches, and its just because of the way Brits spell it vs. Americans.

Do you know what their typical, average sale is? Do you know on average, how many sales per week or month he makes? Do you know, based on his industry averages, what his average markup is? How long on average, does a typical customer stay with him - months? years? How many leads does it take him to get 1 conversion? How long does it take? This information is worth pure gold to you, and him. Pure gold.

Do the research, come armed with facts, and blow it out of the water. He needs you, not the other way around - and dont you forget it.

Good luck man....A lot of good points. You got to go in there acting like you know your shit even if you dont. You have to act like ok if they dont hire me there going to wish they had!

Dont go in cocky of course but confident. Dont say things like hmmmm, not to sure have an answer for everything! Keep us posted

What steps would you usually take to acquire this information?

And that was a great post. I'm gathering the other information as we speak. Much appreciated!

The Dentist also told me that he has the cheapest price on implants in town, and would like to market that on twitter & facebook. This is why I want to know how to pitch social media campaign management.

I had an OB-Gyn call me this morning, and they want me to meet with them tomorrow also! They don't have a website, so I told them as incentive for letting me work with them, I would build their website for free. I plan on charging for hosting, though. What should I charge for hosting?

I'm pretty sure that fat chicks get zilch is not because they act desesperate but because they are fat...

This man speaks the truth. In any business transaction, the (most) needy part gets the shortest straw. KNOW that you have something of value to offer them. This may seem like just a morsel of advice, but it took me a long time to understand it and apply it.

Also, tame your mind and discover there is a HUGE difference between NEEDING something and WANTING something. Yes, you want to land this client, NO, you DON'T NEED him, he needs you. Understand that you don't really need anything, you just want things. Understand this and you'll have the upper hand (your confidence will shine through). To NEED is to be already defeated and taken advantage of.

Don't overdo the info that you share. Gather some data, as others have said...Traffic Travis or SEO Suites can help, but we found that our first client didn't care about the details, he just wanted to know what we could do to get him more sales. Still, get the info for him/her so you can speak with confidence, but focus on how you will benefit...if I have a compound fracture, I don't care about the details of how my orthopedic surgeon plans to fix me, I just want to be put back together. As we used to say in the brokerage house: Sell the sizzle, kid, not the steak. ;-)

I love these threads.. Real results.... Do make sure to keep us informed on your progress..

Everyone pretty much have said it already, just be confident in yourself and make sure you win over the client. One other thing, if you don't end up getting him on your side, it's not the end for you, you will have many other chances, but it'll be a great learning experience.

Good luck and enjoy yourself!

I know a lot of guys say don't come out without a check but how can you "really" know what they need until you sit down and talk? ... LISTEN and they will TELL you what they want even if they don't say SEO .. the bigger money comes from putting a custom package together.

Caveat .. if he says I want this and that here is the check TAKE IT :-)

Thanks for all the info. I'm going to kill it tomorrow. I know it.

If he wants to sign up on the spot, how do I handle that? Do I tell him I need to write out the contract and get back to him, or is there another way you all do it?

I usually sign a receipt (not too detailed) and deliver the contract later.

So gay. I had a really great post filled with good news, but nazis obviously run this place. Look, I've been here since October, and I have 9 posts. Not because I haven't been on the site, but because I come here to acquire knowledge that I can APPLY. I advise my fellow noobs that are reading this to take action.

Put your post into a docshare and then drop the link here. You might need to be creative when dropping the link, like hxxp://www(DOT)site(dot)com

I shouldn't have been so harsh on BHW. I'll post in-depth later
