Is it possible to grab clients without cold calling or face to face?
Any strategies or tips you've used that worked to grab them?

If not face to face...have you tried ass to mouth?

E-mail is always a possibility... there`s fax and direct mail also (but the latter two are somewhat pricey).

Get a commission only salesperson, you can advertise for one on craigslist.
If you feel like thanking someone, thank a mod.

Just outsource to an experience telemarketer and pay him based on his performance (which would serve as a motivation for him to get some deals closed).
Personally I don't plan on paying commissions (less money for me in the end). I do plan on using a 'prize' model like so:
(hourly rate) * (hours worked) + (number of deals closed) * 'prize'
'prize' could be like, "I'll pay you $10 extra or something".
OP is not asking your method :P
I saw a good thread about referrals. http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackha...ee-months.html
Voice broadcast....
Send a pre-recorded message to thousands of businesses. Numbers game.
You still have to be able to close though....

Leaflets, product cards, exhibition lists, email lists depends on what you are doing and how you are intending to go it. Personally if have never had a problem picking up the phone.
Was told for years that telesales was considered the arse end of sales, face to face sales works out expensive not worth the effort in my book.
Get some balls get on the phone and pitch for business

Can't disagree necessarily, but again, it's a numbers again. I'd rather blast a pre-recorded message than spend the time training a bad salesman and waiting weeks/months to achieve similar results as with cold calling.
Unless your super salesman is also an expert one-call closer that gets business on the first call, cold calling is nothing more than lead generation. You generate the interest through automation, then add the personal touch and close.
I'd just prefer to automate the cold calling process.
My company's specialty is SEO so we are SEOing ourselves to the top of Google for seo industry terms. It's certainly a challenge given that all the site owners know what they are doing unlike any other industry. However, it's not a problem for my company. As such, we have already started generating high quality leads and some sales.
