Online you can distribute to millions of people.
Offline you have printing and distribution costs.

I am telling you from being a club promoter for years..
offline flyers was the way to go..
but now...
it's not profitable....

It's good if your going to start a local brand and want to get some clients without expensive advertising, thats why i said that you need to think out of the box with this... yeah it would be horrible waste of time to spread posters so you can get few CPA leads, but when it comes to offline business, it should work well

And we have to remember that not all niches survive in the web, i cant recall hearing people searching google for hairdresser example? mouth to mouth advertising works then better and you can start that by getting few leads with your posters, and those will carry out your bidding

Flyers are really a great way to promote your brand and I support this mode of offline advertising.

One effective way is to localize the business your are working with. By this I mean you should distribute the flyers in the neighborhoods closest to the business location.
Dont make to broad of a base that hits a lot of consumers that are not obtainable.

Think... low amount of flyers and high ROI numbers instead of saturation.

Flyers are really effective especially if you are targeting properly based on research. Distributing to random people might not be profitable but it surely helps when distributed to right people at right place at a right time.

Right targeting can lead into 100% conversion... if you goto homeless shelter and put up flyer saying that they can earn some fast cash for booze by contacting you and doing some little choirs for you... i think there might be good leads smelling like booze coming to you

Yes, online you can distribute to millions, but your conversion rate is tiny, just fractions of one percent. If you create a nice design and target the right people you can boost your conversion greatly offline. It's not just a numbers game, but an audience game as well.

This most definitely can work, it is work though. Heads up, don't try this with local papers, you WILL get contacted by pissed off owners/advertisers. I know a local reseller here that got an entire franchise shut down because of the same type of thing.
