Re: my goal sending 100 packets at once for a test
I want to do it the same way as you do
ATM im making 1-3k/month with IM but taxes etc. ... :S
I want to send out 50 packages and check how they like it, how many contracts etc.
What do you charge ?

Re: my goal sending 100 packets at once for a test
If you send out something make sure to have a call to action and then followup with a call within the next 2 days after they have received it.

Re: my goal sending 100 packets at once for a test
I wouldn't send do many at a time. Although firepower is exciting, you can't send another packet to the same business any time soon, so first send a few and make adjustments based on the response you get from those. Then tweak if necessary and send another batch. On top of that, you are losing time by waiting that they're all ready, and if you're lucky and get a lot of good feedback, you may not be able to cater for everybody. Finally, it's more money you have to spend before even being able to sniff any money at all. But good luck whatever you do.

Re: my goal sending 100 packets at once for a test
Some good points here. Thanks guys!
I just don't want to work a hard labor job anymore!
I been here since 08 and I still am working a day job. I'm going to put all my knowledge and skills together so I can stay home and work while getting stoned

Now that sounds like the life!
As much as I want to quit my job (almost fulll-time), make sure you have at least two months worth of pay saved first! Which you may be able to get within a few days if you snag a few good clients!
Let us know how it goes!

This. Maybe even 6 months of living expenses.
I have had great experience with the GPlace Letter, but not enough to quit my job after one mailing.

How did this work out for you? Did you manage to send out the 100 packets and how many replies did you get to it? How many are you still working on and did you get any contracts out of it?
Share your outcome, good or bad.

Re: my goal sending 100 packets at once for a test
I'm also pretty keen to see an update on this and any info you found while doing this. Did you manage to do the 100 drop or go with the 20? What was your close rate? What sort of rates did you start out with?

Re: my goal sending 100 packets at once for a test
If this letter converts as well as some of the guys have said it is I would be worried about being able to handle 30 new clients all at the same time. The SEO part you can delay new clients with for a bit, like start getting paid but only start working on it in a week, but just the sheer amount of meetings you're going to be getting might be overwhelming and cause them to see you as a scam artist. Make sure you're ready to be able to handle all the new clients before sending all of them at once. I would send out a portion once a week which would give you a full week to handle all the new clients and not have to postpone any meetings. I'm sure once they read the letter they will want to see you asap, making them wait a few days will cause the whole excitement that the letter generates to wear off
Another thing, try group all the closely related businesses into each batch your sending out. That way if one "dentist" decides to sign up you don't need to see any other dentists, unless of course you deem it ok to help more than one client for the same keyword. I feel if you're really trying to setup a long term business that helping out more than one client for the same keyword could make clients angry if they found out about it. There are so many niches for this that it really makes sense to keep it simple and only work for one client per keyword set. Would also be cool to tell the dentist that you actually have another dentist booked for a meeting on the day they want to see you so that they feel you are high in demand

The OP updated in progress with another thread. I think it was in the lounge section.

I do suggest to stagger the mailings, but I would be amazed if anyone got 30 clients out of 100 mailings. The OP did get an amazing response with is mailings.
Having a lot of meetings wouldn't necessarily make you seem like a scam artist. It would make you seem like an in-demand specialist. If you don't have the "appearance" of being busy (even if you're not), prospects might think how good can you be if it is easy to see you. And added benefit is that you'll be able to charge higher fees because you are in-demand.
There is only one success--to be able to spend life your own way.

Re: my goal sending 100 packets at once for a test
The WSO seems like a pretty good idea ... I went to complete them and found out my printer is a POS.. worth a shot though... the concept is great to get the fact across that Traditional Print Ads are falling Way behind Google SEO ROI...

Re: my goal sending 100 packets at once for a test
Anyone know where you find the actual address you can mail the packets to? All the businesses I've checked so far don't list their postal address?

Where are you looking for the addresses at? Out of their website, Google Places, Yahoo Local, TripAdvisor, CitySearch, Yellowpages, a google search, WHOIS query, etc. there has to be one bound to be listing the address. Finding the address is the easy part

Re: my goal sending 100 packets at once for a test
sorry for the late update! i got stoned and forgot haha well i have sent a total of 85 packets with about 8% conversion, i have been doing some testing with the web design packet that i have designed, id say they are about even on conversion. for the amount of profit i make average 1k per client which i think i might be a bit too low but im happy with where im at right now. i will be doing this on a smaller but steady scale throughout the rest of the year along with my other campaigns

Re: my goal sending 100 packets at once for a test
oh by the way for finding their address,, that is part of research you do, i like to use sites like manta. if i cant find their address and business owners name rather quickly then i go to the next company.
the hardest part is the research, and its quite boring and time consuming to be honest but its work and as long as i get paid its fine with me

Re: my goal sending 100 packets at once for a test
For $5 you can hire someone on Fiverr with excellent rating to be your personal assistant for 1-3 hours and get leads off Manta. Focus on quality worker, not how many hours you can [supposedly] get someone to work and your leads will be better.

Ok so you have an 8% conversion rate on 85 packets.
So thats a conversion of around 7 for the 85 packets.
7 packets = $7000 profit give or a take a little.
I think thats a pretty good return on your investment.

Re: my goal sending 100 packets at once for a test
Sending out around 20 tomorrow. Lets see how it pans out. Had to use a little twist since I didnt have enough junk mail to clip ads out of so I searched some adwords clients who are not ranking in G places or in an organic search for local search terms.
