Hello fellas



Today I will share with you guys something I was doing before a while then dropped to have more time to invest in other stuff. I am not getting 2k a month from that project because I dropped it before marketing it, but I can tell you it’s bringing me 1k+ a month on auto-pilot (1-2 hours a month at most).
This method is a combination of online and offline work, the nice thing here is that the more you work on it, the more you grow your empire to get semi auto-pilot monthly subscriptions.


Method in short :
You will actually build simple WordPress websites to offline small businesses, you will offer your customers the following :
Free hosting, Free domain, Designed website, Facebook page, Website submission to Google&Yahoo search engines, Easy admin control panel, Built-in search and much more !
Offer all that for just 49$ a month !


WTF ?!
Yeah, I know that may sound like a lot of work for a little money, but take a minute now and calculate how much time and money it will take you to do all the above:
Free hosting – 1 shared hosting is enough for 1000 small websites, as small businesses websites will hardly get any traffic, so that won’t be a problem at all.
Free domain - Okay that’s 10$ a year, less than 1$ a month that’s the only thing you will pay for.
Custom design website, Control panel, Built-in search – That’s all just WordPress! ,setting up a new WordPress website with a custom theme, some plugins will take you at most 1 hour (Much less if you find how to automate it).
Facebook page – Will take you exactly 5 minutes to make a new one with a nice side picture on it.
Submission to Google & Yahoo - I just wrote that to give you an idea of how tempting your offer will look to the small-business owners..
That’s all in total = ~1hr and 1$ a month
What you get = 49$ every month

There is a huge difference between 49$ and 49$ a month, most of your customers will put the website that you’ll build for them in their visit cards, therefore it’s not going to be easy for them to drop the website and most of them will keep their website for a long time.
With your attractive offer, it will be easy to get 50 customers, isn’t it ?
50 * 49$/month = ~2500$ a month
Work needed = One-time 50 hours which is 1 week of 7 hours a day work
When I decided to do this, I took some time to research and look for the most attractive WordPress plugins, a list of what I’ll offer to customers, different themes and some other stuff. I will share all this with you guys to help you save time so you can start with the method right away

Add link to Facebook , All in one SEO Pack , Contact Form 7 , Facebook Comments for WordPress , NextGEN Gallery , qTranslate , Quick Chat , Visitor Maps , WP-Polls , WPtouch


Themes :
I just used free WordPress themes websites, like NewWpThemes.com or similars.


What I offered to customers :
Here is exactly what I promised the customers when I advertised my service :

• Hosting & Domain expenses included !
• Free designed Facebook page bonus !
• Control your website easily with your control panel !
• Built-in search, contact us form, users comments, polls and much more !
• Free professional logo design !
• We will submit your website to search engines like Google & Yahoo !
• Free support !

If you are thinking that the support may take a lot of your time, I found a solution for that – Just give them an email, where they’ll send their issues and you will fix it when you want . Don’t give your personal phone number or email, just a business email and a new SIM card number.
How to market your service :
Though I didn’t do my best when I marketed my service, I was getting many requests from people who were interested in my service. So here is what I suggest you to do to market your service :
1) Make fliers describing your “Sale” then get a kid to spread them to all the small businesses in your area.
2) If you have some experience in PPC, then I highly recommend doing Facebook PPC with this, just make sure to put your phone number in the ad, and in your ad webpage.
3) Get an ad space in your local newspaper if possible, it helps a lot
4) Make some nice visit cards, and give them to everyone, everywhere!
This should be enough to get the desired customers base, just make sure to always ask the customer on how he heard about you so you can focus on the most effective marketing technique.

Thanks for this. But sometimes i get some "picky" customer that want modified themes etc. How do u handle with this kind of customer? How much do u charge regarding modified themes? Thanks

Don't deal with such customers man, it's too much headache! And from my experience you will end up loosing money and time.

Once a client agrees, get them to sign a contract (see above thread) to say that each modification will cost $$.

Well if you really need money this could work. Overall it´s really a cheap price and it´s likely that you will get a lot of customers, maybe you can hire someone if you got a lot of work.

This method.... WORKS.. I used it to make very good cash. I sold it for yearly price or one off price! £500

yeah i think this is the whole point of the $49 per month package...do not compromise you offer one [ackage that's it. Take it or f*** off! :-)

Great plan, I've done similar in the past.

Did you target only local business? Did you make calls etc or did you just let the business come to you?

I was doing a very simple design

Target small businesses, most of them are noobs and will like anything (at least here people are)

And yeah man go ahead and add me on Skype

This does sound good... You could easily hook them up within an hour...

You could even do $150/$100 a month with SEO if you wished.

My hosting allows unlimited domains but it's all on one control panel :S

Also, what you guys could offer is a free Wordpress website that will be "submitted to Google", and get them to sign up through H*st G*tor and if you get 21 signups you can get $2100/month

Offer SEO services for $30-$100/month
and charge for modifications to the wordpress template(I would outsource it on Odesk because I don't know much about coding)... and you want to outsource it because it'll make them happy when you have an expert rather than your confused self.

Check out Ye*ll*abot in downloads(remove asterisks)... you can generate leads as easy as cutting cake... and check out online reputation management(in downloads)

I see someone else asked a fairly similar question as what I'm going to ask. So I recently built a Wordpress site for $120 for a friends friend. Okay, shortly put, he was SO picky. He wanted to meet up 3 times, and the drive was far. I spent at least 40 bucks on gas Literally for 2 months he kept asking for changes. Not sure if he even realized how much time this was taking. He would ask for the most absurd changes to the site..

Anyways, my question is, what if we start working with a client, only to realize they are like the individual I described above? Do we simply tell them we would no longer look to work with them?

How do you deal with people that want you to make frequent updates?

What if you get to say, 3-4K a month. How do you do your taxes?

Actually there is a similar model, guy just work with WIX

Hey mate,

The "panel" you offer to the client is just the Wordpress panel Your host cPanel you keep for you.. so no more than one.

About the things you offered, could be good for bigger clients, but the idea here is targeting small businesses, so a small subscription a month for a little work you do ONCE.

it's not the pbl to set up a wp site, what is time consuming is building the site with the customer's info and images, move that, add that, remove that, change color of that, etc...
You will easily spend 3 or 4 hours, and concerning fb if you want to give him a nice fb page setup correctley it will also take you some time.

Also, nowadays, finding customers that dont have websites already is hard...
So 50 customers per month I think it is way overrated

For all who asked, about picky customers :

What you offer is a website, DON'T PROMISE PHONE SUPPORT.

Make it clear that support for the website is through email ONLY and for SMALL CHANGES ONLY.
This way, you can take your time fixing the stuff and you'll get much less headache with emails.

My twist regarding my personal experience:
1) Open yellow pages
2)Write down 100 business adresses in 100 evelopes (or outsource it with a kid in your area, i give it to the guy that are in charge of the copy machine in my college on morning and i have my 100 evelopes at evening, dentists and doctors converts the better).
3)Write a sales latter and get 100 copies.
4)Blast your letters in your local mailbox and watch the money rolling, direct mail converts like ipad offers to college guys

This sounds like a great method, might alter it a little to meet my needs but thanks!

This thread made obvious that offering these ready made sites to local businesses works like a charm , I first got some inspiration from the wix threads , this one even inspires me more.

Already build me a scraper to scrape all the needed info for any city I want over here , so it's time to start workings these methods pretty soon.

There's something that's stopping me from trying this method:

If those small companies don't have the expertise to set up a website (i.e. hosting + domain name), how will they be able to put content on their site? I think the only people that can be tricked into this are owners very small shops. For example the bath shop around my corner is run by a lady who probably doesn't even know how to turn on a computer, I don't see her putting content on her website. Do you think local dentists/doctors could fall for this? 50 bucks a month for a website is pretty much for them I reckon. Also, I don't really see what content a dentist would put on his website...

Secondly, did you only talk to them by mail? I think many potential customers first want to see your face before they trust you. Which brings me to my actual question: how do you finalize a contract? So how can your customer be sure that you will do what you say? Do you send them a copy of your identity card or what? I've always wondered about that....

Or even better! when you crape your leads from the Yellow pages, you might wanna outsource some cold calling to get to know the Name of the Person who is in charge.

This way your direct mailing wont be thrown away like spam.
Second, using the person his name is way more converting than using a general: Dear sir/madam. Tagline.
