i'll be offering a service to businesses. what i want to know, is how do they prefer to pay for a service?

monthly? quarterly? by the year?

anyone have any experience with this? i'd prefer them to pay quarterly, but what's more appealing for them? if it was yearly for example, does that scare them off?

thanks for any advice! :)

(i didn't know where to put this, but since it's offline businesses i just decided to put it here. sorry if it's in the wrong place)

Usually monthly, because that's when they send out payments to employees and whatever other expenses...but they probably won't mind doing quarterly.

Depends what the service is?

A lot of clients prefer monthly so they can cancel at any time. To entice people to pay yearly offer a discount for paying yearly.

My clients like to pay monthly for any recurring services. Like pokerjk said, if you want them to pay quarterly, offer an incentive. Give them options for paying quarterly and monthly, but make quarterly payments cheaper than monthly payments.

Most bussines will have the financial term as 4 months and an annual sum of all the years earnings. Give them the services to pay little in the quater bases and a conclusive pay at the end of their finacial year.
